Iowa is sooooo far away in football and any living, breathing organism can see that we aren’t going anywhere in the new B1G under Ferentz. Why are we not reallocating resources to basketball while the door is open and a few big hits can fundamentally change the direction of the program? Reality check time. Basketball has growth potential…football in trending down. Act like a corporation and pivot! Be bold and capitalize on the opportunity in front of you

You act like the university is determining where the NIL money goes. The donors are the ones stipulating where they want their dollars spent.

I would love more funds for men's basketball.

Women's basketball is taking a chunk from the men as well. That seems pretty short-sighted to me.

But reality check....football is not trending down. '18-'23 provided the winningest stretch for Iowa under KF

Way more relevant than men’s hoops. Football was damaged by BF era and KF needs to retire. KF has been a longer and moderately more successful version of the Fran era.
"Damaged" by an era that was KF's winningest at Iowa?

🤣

Football pays the bills, gotta take care of it first but we should be able to raise more money and help men’s basketball too.

Let me ask this: Right now, I believe the Swarm splits its undesignated donations between football, MBB, and WBB in an 80, 10, 10 manner. Football gets 80%, MBB gets 10%, and WBB gets 10%.

Is that the right split? Should MBB maybe get a little more? Like maybe 75-15-10? Or 78-12-10?

I don’t know that this would move the needle much, but perhaps it’s worth thinking about.

And to be clear, this would be a Swarm decision. The athletic department doesn’t control this distribution.

I don't think so especially if you consider that only 6 or 7 guys really need paid anything significant.

How many ranked teams did we beat with Biff running the offense?
Iowa FB does seem to have a vastly improved QB room entering next season. If they stay healthy and the OL performs pretty well, the offense should be better. Flip side is that we lost some key defensive players... Net effect???

I am at least as tired of Ferentz as I was of Fran.

I football led the nation in fewest penalty yards last season. Clearly an excellently coached team.

What's there to be tired of?

Hopefully, the Big 10 is directing the schools in the conference to spend almost all of the revenue sharing money on football. To do otherwise makes no sense. Football is where all the money is and supports the athletic departments.

Eyesofhawk is mad if you aren’t sucking on Kirk’s balls at all times. No criticism allowed.

Wake me up when we are in the CFP discussion.
