It's not up to Kirk. He's still getting paid as I believe his contract runs through June.
Maybe Budamyr has been contacted by tOSU or Michigan and KF has to increase the salary offer.
if lester turns out to be the qb/wrs coach and somebody else gets the oc slot, it would be so awesome. not because kf hired somebody other than lester as oc but the story line would rank almost equal to the we-got-him obl operation
I'd like a reporter to ask BG if they capped the OC salary and if that played directly into not getting Johns.
He has a contract in place that pays him for a certain amount of time I am assuming.
This is becoming even more strange as time moves on. Are the beat writers saying anything? Tuesday is usually press day right?
Kirk has been out on the recruiting trail last night for sure. Was in Algona I believe, and he would not have driven home last night. Does this visit period end on Jan 31?
Good question. I have zero clue. That would explain why this is not made official yet via a press conference. Why not announce and set up a press conference for 2/1 or 2/2?

KF knows this was a safe and under the radar hire that will garner questions as to "why not Chryst, or JP, or KJ"? He will deflect and talk about no major changes and that it will be a wide open race for 2nd string QB.
Good luck getting a straight answer on that. You would get something like “we evaluate all candidate's experience and offer compensation packages based on that experience. “ Or, “we don’t discuss compensation negotiations.”

Yeah, they can be announced at the same time, but can also be announced separately. Unless there is a reason…I guess I fall under the umbrella that there could be more to it, but I don’t know shizzle, lol.

It was mentioned that they may be waiting for Feb 7th, the late signing day because Iowa won't have any signees that day to announce.
If it were me, I’d announce the OC and then let him later announce the WR coach since I presume he will report to the OC. Kirk could sit on the sideline during the WR coach announce. But I do believe Kirk was out on tour meeting with class of 2025 recruits in Iowa. But again no reason not to schedule the presser for some future day. not sure who schedules and announces it? Is it football office or would AD office announce a press conf for announcement of the new OC.
