*****Official Cubs 2019 thread*****

Cubs didn’t score after the 5th inning.
Slump is brewing.

I like this kid Hoerner. If he's not just a flash in the pan I could see him batting lead off next year. He's a great contact hitter which the Cubs sorely need.

See... the AL doesn't have a patent on shitty baseball teams!

God, the Pirates suck!

Love those one game samples! :)

And Pittsburgh is 12-5 in Interleague play this year.

Another interesting fact ... Top 10 interleague records this year.

1. NYM 15-5 (that's right, the Mets have the best interleague record) :)
2. Tampa 13-5
3. Pittsburgh 12-5
4. Arizona 14-6
5. Atlanta 12-5
6. Philadelphia 10-5
7. Washington 11-6
8. NYY 12-8
9. Cubs 12-8
10. Los Angeles Angels 12-8

That's 7 NL teams and 3 AL teams. Hmmm ...

And, the bottom 10 ...
30. Toronto 3-17
29. Detroit 5-15
28. White Sox 6-14
27. Baltimore 7-13
26. Seattle 6-11
25. Colorado 8-12
24. Milwaukee 8-12
23. Minnesota 8-12
22. Cleveland 6-8
21. Kansas City 8-10

That is 8 AL teams and 2 NL teams. Hmmm ...

And finally, the Yankees are 97-51 so far.

AL East record = 51-17 (Bal 17-2, Bos 14-5, TBR 12-5, Tor 8-5)
Rest = 46-34 (including Sea 6-1 and KC 5-2)
Rest (not Sea and KC) = 35-31

I will hang up and listen. :)

You know it’s a hitters day when Kemp gets a hit. The true test would be DeScalso. He couldn’t throw a ball and find a gap.
I got on the treadmill at the gym just in time to watch the last two innings. Descalso walked up to the plate in the 8th and I didn't know who it was.
Congrats for suckering Theo into a two year deal.

That's a lot of research for what?

I could have told you that the NYY are one of the top three teams in MLB if you would have just asked.

ESPN power ranking confirms my thoughts.

Now go back to gloating that the Cubs just beat a really crappy Pirates team.

And the Globetrotters are the best basketball team ever, just look at their record!!!!

Ignore stats that don't support the narrative! :)

It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens with nico next year. I wonder where he starts the season.
Not AA.
I Don’t recall the position split, but I know he played some CF at AA, and during his rehab stint in Arizona. With a better LF he might okay in CF. He is fairly athletic. Id rather fill that hole first. Yes, Castellanos has been great, but maybe someone way overpays him on years. I think he has found Wrigley fun to hit and play in. The team will be good again. Things he wasn’t used to in Detroit, that’s for sure
