yuck
It's the first meaningless regular season game the Cubs have played since September 28, 2014.
yuck
If it’s the same one I saw, that picture was taken on Sept 20. Either way, he deserves a ton of credit for playing hurt and trying to help his team make the playoffs. At this point, shut him down.

I thought the Double-A season was over already
It's not meaningless for the Cards....![]()

Happ will be unless he's traded. Almora might be in AAA.
imo almora and happ are both in AAA, just guessing obviously
We'll see what he shows in spring training. I really liked the drop in his strikeout rate this year - it was down more than 10 percentage points from last year and he struck out at a lower rate in Chicago than he did at Iowa this year.
I'd like to see if he can get back to driving the ball more next year without increasing the K rate substantially. His BABIP was way down over last year and his walk rate was down. Some of that could be sample size, but part of me also wonders how much of the drops are him focusing so much on contact that he's being more aggressive on so-so pitches. BABIP being down could also be due to getting more bat on ball with 2 strikes....taking ABs that would have been a K last year and turning it into something less than hard contact.
False. Lie. Fake news. I'll believe that when I see it.Yu Darvish and Kyle Hendricks will not make their scheduled starts this weekend. While I understand it looking at the bigger picture, I am disappointed that they are choosing not to compete with an opportunity to play spoiler.
Uh huh
And it why the Cubs could only manage 2 runs against them yesterday, and only 2 so far today. Because.........Josh Bell.........is.........somehow......preventing.........the ..........Cubs.
......from............scoring...........

Joe's place has charts and graphs that prove teams out of contention play just as hard the last games as they did when they were in contention.
No Happ? He is a toss up in my mind. A lot of pop and potential, but he should report to Arizona a week after the season ends and start working out with anyone he can find down there.3

2 blown saves and started the JV team in game 2. Don't equate 1 or 2 games in baseball to represent any " season long " significance. If that's the case the Cardinals own Verlander, Kershaw and Bumgarner. Your baseball smarts wouldn't fill a thimble Joe...LMAO!!
Uh huh. That's why AZ just "folded" and took 2 of 3 from the Cards....![]()

Sorry, the mods merged the threads. If only there was a thread about the Cardinals for someone to spend his time in.![]()
You have never, nor will you ever see any complaints from me about Rizzo. He is one whom I wish all the Cubs players would emulate.Yes. @mstp1992 is not permitted to make any "doesn't care" or "doesn't try hard" references to Rizzo for at least 2 years after what he's done on that ankle.
Why would Cards fans worry? They'll broom the Cubbies. You should focus more on Milwaukee coming in hot than focusing on what the Cubs do against Pittsburgh.
Cincy didn't start their best player, Suarez, left fielder or catcher today. Because they're out of the race. Just like Pittsburgh. Just like Miami. We'll see who last place Colorado starts this weekend against the Brewers.
I'm still not believing the Cubs won't try to play spoiler this weekend.

The Cubs have been "tanking" for the last few weeks. Cubs won't win another game this season. Pathetic bunch of losers.
Any objective fan saw this coming last summer. You got 2/3 guys that care and the rest of the roster collecting a paycheck.
And now a GM saying things to try and save his job.

Maddon quit caring a very long time ago. It'll be interesting if it ever comes out about his relationship with Theo.Maddon: Don't care if Cubs' lineup irks Brewers

On this date in 1989 the Cubs beat the Expos to win the NL East. Mitch Williams came in to lock things down.
rough night in St. Louis Nicholas?
