*****Official Cubs 2019 thread*****

A lot of folks will blame Strop, and he was obviously bad. But if you only score 1 run against Ivan Nova, you do not deserve to win the game.

Question on Javy - is this a prolonged (one month) slump, or is he being in exposed? Remember, Javy’s season last year (131 wRC+) was an absolute anomaly given his abysmal strikeout and walk rates. I’m not saying he’s being exposed, or that he’ll go back to being the below average hitter that he was from 2015-2017, but it would be a Herculean task for him to repeat his 2018 - mid May 2019 production.

Hard to say. He looked like 2018 Javy at the beginning of the season — MVP numbers. Then he hurt his heel and hasn’t really been the same since.

Strop AND the hitters suck.

Pathetic effort once again.

He absolutely scalded the ball to center in his last at bat on Sunday and to left tonight. I think he's got 4-5 years of .280 to .300, 30 HR, and few walks.

Kimbrel threw an 8 pitch inning for the I-Cubs tonight. Very nice.
Also, if you follow the I-Cubs, starter Colin Rea has shown significant flashes of promise this year as he rehabs. He could be a solid piece for next year.

Chatwood has been announced as the starter to fill in for Hendricks. So, no AA start.

From Cascade, IA ...

If I was a White Sox fan I would feel so cheated. All those years I had to listen to Hawk when Jason Benetti was waiting in the wings.

This will all be so much easier next year. We will only have to pay our $8-12 per month and dial in the Cubs Network.
