They’re going to Cincy.
Wash, rinse, repeat.Goddamn Descalso!!
All you needed to do was hit the goddamn ball.
Idiot!!
And then DeCrappyo comes up next and strikes out. Those two shouldnt be playing, much less in the lineup on the same day.Goddamn Gonzalez!!

Gonzalez and Descalso completely failed. Terrible effort.
I half way think he might retire, but you know what helps people cope with anxiety? Tens of millions of dollars in a guaranteed contract.Maybe he’ll get anxious to move back to Japan.
Then to top it off, Chatwood hits? Really?
Well, he might be as good a hitter as anyone else on the team right now. Then to top it off, Chatwood hits? Really?
All I've ever maintained is that Theo has had way more misses than hits on his transactions. And the farm system is nearly barren.I'd be fine with it. Getting a middle infielder in the offseason made sense with Russell's suspension, but now that it's in the rear-view mirror, Descalso is giving nothing (and really, neither is Russell). Russell gives a backup option at SS and Bote gives depth at 2B and 3B.
A certain Yankee troll will gloat about how the Cubs should have kept LaStella, but I still firmly believe that getting a guy who could play SS was far more important than keeping a weak glove/great pinch hitter on the roster. I'm happy for TLS and what he's doing with his change of venue, but he simply wasn't going to get that chance in Chicago.
The Cubs should be able to find a relatively cheap bench bat on the trade market in the next few weeks, which is a need right now.
By the way, what's the latest on Zobrist? I'm assuming he won't be back, but the Cubs were talking as if he would eventually be a couple weeks ago. I think this team really misses him. Not because he was having a spectacular season, but because he just goes up and gives you consistent, professional at-bats. If he were to make it back, I'd like that bench a lot better with Zobrist in Descalso's place.

Cubs fans seem content with that single WS title and have pretty much looked past all Theo's blunders.
But I do credit him with doing what I thought was a no brainer... Kimbrel.

Today’s hitting star Caratini was a throw in, too. Good grab.Way more misses than hits?

Chatwood put the Cubs in the hole in first place. There just hasn’t been enough credit given to Chatwood. He stuck in there and gritted his teeth to keep the Cubs close.

We will see about the pitching. There seems so be a bubble rising towards AA and beyond.
See, no credit. He didn’t fold. He just kept grinding away. That’s a real competitor.Chatwood put the Cubs in the hole in first place.
