Just to clarify - Assad has been optioned 3 times and Mastro now 4 times. I thought the rule was that a player could be optioned 5 times per option season. Can't remember my source and too lazy to look it up, but I thought you could enlighten me.Now the Cubs are in a bind with Miles - it’s the 4th time he‘s been optioned, so if he comes back up again, he’ll have to stay on the ML roster or else the Cubs will have to put him through waivers and I’d be really surprised if he cleared.
