this team won’t win 80 games
what a terrible organization
Don't you EVER disrespect Little Feat like that again!Well when you bring in a roadie for Little Feat instead of a major league pitcher, what do you expect? 😡
WOW...that's what is known as a melt down.
No argument from me.Well, it's no Game 5 of the 2024 WS melt down, but it wasn't good. winking emoji.![]()
Counsell said postgame that Merryweather had gotten up repeatedly in the previous games and fully warmed up, so he was not available. Supposedly a few other guys weren't available. Brett Taylor made a good suggestion in his post game notes that wouldn't this have been a good day to piggyback Rea knowing you'd probably get short inning from your starter and the bullpen was taxed?Where the F is Merryweather? Is he dealing with a Jetlag injury or something like that?
Pearson, Thielbar and Morgan are all garbage. If our bullpen is going to suck at least bring up guys with high ceilings who have a future with the team like Little, Palencia and Neely. Blowing a four run lead in the eighth inning this early in the season just makes me want to puke.
He's 40 and would need at least a month to ramp up. So, in the near term it's probably time to warm up the Des Moines shuttle bus and see who can stick in the majors.David Robertson come on down
You're obviously taking another cheap shot, but be real - when has a manager in that situation (interviewing after the team blows a huge lead) ever really wanted to be there? I didn't see the Yankees' manger interview after the WS. Was he all smiles and fully engaged with the media?Watching the Counsell post-game, he clearly wanted to be somewhere else.
If the Cubs are serious about having a strong bullpen, Jed has plenty of resources. The Cubs' organization has a whopping EIGHT players on the top 30 prospect list that are R5D eligible this fall. Obviously they're not all going to be on the 40-man by November. Between the high-ceiling guys in Des Moines and actually using prospects as valuable trade chips, Jed could have a great bullpen practically overnight if he wants. I'd say Horton, Ballesteros, Alcantara and Caissie are untouchable, but anyone else in the minors should be fair game (Other than Horton and Ballesteros, other R5D eligible players are Triantos, Birdsell, C. Hernandez, McCullough, C. Franklin & Gray). He's 40 and would need at least a month to ramp up. Not a cheap shot, and I admit I haven't watched Counsell speak much, but he's clearly upset and just one more question about the bullpen away from blowing up.You're obviously taking another cheap shot, but be real - when has a manager in that situation (interviewing after the team blows a huge lead) ever really wanted to be there? Funny how obsessed you are with the Cubs. I couldn’t even tell who the Yankees manager is, and haven’t watched a Yanks manager interview since Joe Torre. Was your uncle wearing a Cubs jersey when he touched you?Not a cheap shot, and I admit I haven't watched Counsell speak much, but he's clearly upset and just one more question about the bullpen away from blowing up.
Outside the salary bump, he probably wishes he'd never left the Brewers.
When the NYY play NL Central teams, I'll be here.Funny how obsessed you are with the Cubs. I couldn’t even tell who the Yankees manager is, and haven’t watched a Yanks manager interview since Joe Torre. Was your uncle wearing a Cubs jersey when he touched you?
I've never been on an opposing team's message board/thread with the sole intent of causing trouble in my entire life, no matter who they were playing. Never cared to. I'm not obsessed with other teams. I guess that's the difference between you and me.When the NYY play NL Central teams, I'll be here.
Look at the thread title.
Who scored the first run in an MLB game at Sutter Health Park?Happ walks, Tucker double, and Suzuki sac fly. Cubs up 1-0!

Sorry, boys, I didn't make it that late last night.
Can’t be too many #9 hitters that have done it, either.Kelly's cycle was the very first in the month of March if what I read is correct.
