Because Fran is poor end game manager as well as in game manager
Everyone gets a pass for these ****ing ots. Shouldn't even be here
Because Fran is poor end game manager as well as in game manager
So why couldn't they sub??
If, if , if????if Iowa had won @ Nebraska (their RPI at the time) and @ Minnesota. We'd probably be 60-ish RPI and on the bubble.
Seriously ? I thought he let the game kinda come to him?Watching the highlights is even more depressing.
Brady passes up an open shot to force a pass to Jok. Cordell falling out of bounds throws an outlet pass to Minnesota with Uhl standing open under the basket.
I hate the all Jok offense.

So don't shoot 3s if you are making them?
Same here. That call was beyond terrible.I never blame refs but that was a effing joke
Do you think he took bad shots? I don't . Would you rather have him move it so Dom or the Bear can finish that brick building? You dont get it.
Dont stop moving the ball, dont force feed, dont force bad shots.
Its not good offense.

When Jok gets hot, he's the type of player who demands the ball. With him putting up like 26 in the second half, he earned a few contested shot attempts in OT. I think things went a little over the top, but regardless, we shouldn't have even been in that position.
It's just the type of player Jok is. I agree with your premise, but you can't really tell Jok to stop shooting. You want the ball in the hands of your best player in crunch time. It would likely benefit Iowa for him to dish the ball off when the defense has him smothered, but at this point, it is what it is. Iowa likely won't make the tournament, and Jok will be gone next year. The young guys showed what they can do without him.But it always ends up over the top to the point where we dont even get shots off.
I appreciate what Jok does on offense but Fran has got to stop letting it get to that point where we cant even get shots off because the defense has fully adjusted and is now overcompensating.
You cant ride one player. You cant let the rest of your team become no factors who are just trying to get rid of the ball. The defense will figure it out.

Iowa completed the comeback without Moss on the floor. He went with the hot hands. You or I may have handled it differently, but I can see why Fran would stick with the lineup that was working. Also, Moss seemed to be pressing in the OT's, just wasn't as calm as he was early in the game.I dont want him to stop shooting but I want the rest of the team to shoot more and not freak out with the ball.
The whole thing is just poor game management. You leave Moss on the bench all second half? Thats just ridiculous. We completely abandon using the low block? Also ridiculous.
I know part of it is how young the rest of them are. They go into a shell whenever Jok gets hot. Its just not a good combination.
The refs are not the reason. 2 of Minny's guys are playing out of their ass and too many Iowa players are playing like ass.
You're one of those guys that want to see whistles every possession then. This has been the best refs I've seen all year. The one thing I was worried about with this game was having the refs call the typical phantom calls for the home team, but so far they've been letting them play which is good.
No, like I said, this is the first game I've watched where the refs aren't calling it both ways even remotely consistently. They missed a clear travel by Minny, they missed countless hacks across the arms and bodies bumping in the air (on one side of the court, not exclusively, but out of balance) and they completely flubbed the end of the game. Then they made some poor "makeup calls" on Jok where he wasn't fouled, but all-in-all, Iowa got the shaft. BAD officiating.
