Megan was her usual self today, but as far as I’m concerned Doyle is Iowa’s player of the game. She really got the Hawks going early on when Megan was double/triple teamed.

A healthy NC state is going to be very good next year.

MG is 22 points away from a 1000 point season. That list has to be ridiculously small for both men and women.

I felt the 15-20 point lead was one of the most fragile I've ever felt. NC State refused to wilt. MG has a great feel for where she is on the court.

This is the first women’s game I’ve watched in its entirety since Stringer’s Final Four team. Dang, these girls are good. Glad I got to see Megan play. Best basketball player in Hawkeye history.

That was a REALLY NICE win, NC State is legit. Imagine if they hadn't lost all of those players to injury...and they are still solid. Great win Hawks! Congrats!!
Whats crazy about Megan (IMHO) is if you just look at her gaudy stats you might think she's a ball hog. then you watch her and nothing could further from the truth. she just quietly goes about her business and the next thing you know you look up and she's got 27 points. total team player and total class act.
That was a heck of a team win, they shoot like that from the outside and they can play with anyone.

That was a horrible draw at 15. They were on a 14 game win streak. WTF, NCAA? But I think in the end it made us mentally stronger.
But admit it, it was kinda fun having an ESPN Megan-cam, and split screen of her on the bench during the game. When’s the last time an Iowa player was treated that God-like by media?
Working on getting to Greensboro… this team has given me so much joy, gotta repay it, cheer them on as loud as possible in person. This team represents everything I love about basketball, sports, life.

I agree it’s cool. But feel like it takes away from her teammates. They literally said on air Megan is headed to the elite 8...no Iowa is headed to the elite 8.
An outstanding year for the women’s team!! Elite 8 is a major accomplishment. Sad that Baylor is gonna roll them by 30+..
I hate the Baylor coach already and I've only known of her for 5 minutes...

Saw from one of the beat writers last week that it's only happened 3 or 4 times in women's D-I history.
If, IF Iowa makes to the final, Gustafson will have a chance for 500 rebounds. How many times has 1000 points and 500 rebounds in a season happened?
Megan is Iowa and her team mates are good with it. She cannot do it alone, but she is definitely she is the one player why Iowa is in the Elite 8
Iowa's style and offensive identity could help to neutralize Baylor's aggressive run and gun mentality.......AS LONG AS they take care of the basketball and don't force goofy, flat-footed passes.
South Carolina doesn't seem to have an inside presence (at least nothing close to what Megan provides) and they're just jacking up shots.
Iowa won't abandon Megan to try to get back in the game with 3 ball after 3 ball and settling for tough jumpers.
I mean if they do, they're definitely gonna lose anyway, but I think their more deliberate style will at least give them a fighting chance, and that's all they can ask for..........

Rebecca Lobo in the halftime and post-game show said this game was about “the rest of the band”, and the male former coach said they came out determined to take Gustafson out of the game early on, and make the rest of Iowa beat them, but that’s what Iowa did.
A bit of a side rant, but related. As I look at the stands, in the Iowa and Baylor game, I see like 15 people there. I would have gone, it was a only a 3 hour drive. But, the most OK ticket available was like $150. I'm sorry I'm not paying that. I know its a regional and you want to treat it like the men's, but how bout we lower prices a bit and you might get a few more people in there.
Yeah ticket prices have gotten ridiculous considering that people are more and more inclined to not go to these events.
Their idea is to raise prices to make up for it.................they are idiots.
I couldn't believe it. I looked up the prices and every where like "one of the foul lines, about 45 rows up. $200 please."
