I was kidding, on the average 56000 die every year because of the flu. Should cancel life. I know it's because of the unknown with this but come on.

He was just lobbying all morning how the NCAA should follow the NBA. Then referenced a statement from the NCAA from yesterday afternoon (before any NBA announcement) saying that the NCAA was behind and not leaders. Continued to state that the NCAA exploits their athletes and doesn’t have their well being as a priority.
If you need to cancel a basketball tournament because it’s so serious then the entire country should be on lockdown.
Absolutely shocking to me that when a player plays with the flu (0.02% mortality rate for age group) it's an example of their toughness/grit.
We've effectively shut down sports with a virus that has a 0.2% mortality rate for this age group. Pretty much all immunocompromised individuals.

So airports, public transit, theme parks should be next. If not then canceling the tourney makes no sense.

Correct, if healthy 18-23 year olds can’t play a game of basketball then nobody should be at work or school either.
You can believe statistics that say its going to have a less than 2% death rate once it spreads across the population.
Most of those 31 people were in the same nursing home.
People are going to get sick.
Canceling a basketball game where there won't even be fans in attendance will have zero effect.
Canceling events will help to slow the spread thus impacting the health care system less, enabling them to manage it better.
Just like we should not gather ALL WINTER every year...because it spreads the flu?
How many people would be involved to play a conference tournament without fans in attendance? Maybe 500-750?
How many people ride public transportation every hour? How many went to the grocery store last night to pick up eggs,bread, and milk in Iowa City alone?
The games weren't going to be attended.
The number of people left there is irrelevant.
Won't accomplish anything.

Team, staff, refs, scorekeepers, camera operators and a couple announcers ...40-50 people max.
