Felt like that was game very well officiated. Something I haven't been able to say since maybe January.

I mean sure, if JBo was a foot taller then the GC guy's hand would have been in a legit defensive position.......

Weiskamp also got hit on a three and no call. Instead they'd rather call double fouls and fouls on every single rebound.
They gave Iowa a makeup call on the same possession. Also, the ref told Weezy my bad I missed it. You could see it on the edge of the screen after the other foul call.

At the 15:51 mark of the first half Connor was called for a foul for apparently walling up on a defender... the guy fell backwards. At the time I thought “that didn’t look like much contact (not a B10 foul)” but upon watching it again....the GCU guy just slipped and fell...no contact at all.

On one possession a GCU guard actually took 3 steps before passing the ball...no call.

There were other issues....just not a good job. I realize it’s a tough job, but sometimes wow.

The double foul was absolutely atrocious. There was another time weezy was basically humped on the court and I was astounded it took them as long as they did to call it but they eventually did. Other than those 2 I think the game was called pretty well

Garza was in the lane for 3 seconds exactly when they made the call of three seconds. Next trip down court the GC player held the ball for 7 while guarded without dribbling and no call. Most of Garza’s fouls were crap.

I rewatched the 3 second call on Garza several times. If it was 3 seconds it was barely 3 seconds. They would be calling 3 second violations every 3 seconds if you called it like that.

At the end of the first half they inexplicably put 3.1 seconds on the clock after the shot clock violation. All they had to do was check how much time was on the clock when GCU inbounded it which was 34.3. Should have been 4.3 seconds left. Turned out not to really matter but I was mad about it at the time.

Double foul call was ridiculously bad.

Some of the rebounding fouls were maddening on the long bounces off the rim. Iowa players are going up vertically to get the ball since it was in their vertical area and were called for fouls. Wtf? Seemed the refs were bad and tended to give the benefit of the doubt to GC. And their players were very handsy, grabbing, and pulling with minimal calls. Agree about the shot clock at the end of half, 4.3 or 4.2 seconds should of been on the clock, not 3.1. Nice math skills.

It's past time to do something about officiating, there is no way 3 guys can watch everything 10 are doing and not miss a ton of stuff. For decades now viewers get better views than officials for many calls. There should be some monitor officials!

It’s one thing to let them play, but the no calls underneath on GVC were atrocious.

Had to laugh.

She said”that’s not a foul“ He slipped “
“man these refs are bad”

I'm pretty sure there is no 5 second for closely guarded rule anymore. I believe they took that out. I'll have to admit it's been a long time since I've seen a 3 seconds in the lane called.

The foul on Connor when we were up 11-2 was one of the worst all time. He’s not within 2 feet of him when the foul is called.

It was called just in this Tournament, either yesterday or Friday night.

The part that was taken out was closely guarded while dribbling. You can’t hold it while being closely guarded for more than 5 seconds with dribbling.

Hated the double foul but otherwise I thought it was fine

I absolutely hate the double foul. Such a bail out call especially last night seeing the replay. Both guys battling with no dirty play. Maybe could’ve called a foul GC guy. But unless 2 players really going at it multiple times to point of elbows or shots to the face where even after a warning to give it maybe a rare time to do it.

But last night just hard nose posting up by both teams. timing of it was very Teddy V-esque in look at me I just put the National player of the year on the bench with a very rare call.

That one on Connor is the one where the guy stepped on Connor's foot and lost his balance. That was a play on.

How did he miss it, the announcer said he heard the slap from where he was and the ref was 10 feet away, if that. He didn’t miss it, he ignored it.

They were only going to interject themselves enough to make sure the game was less than a 14 pt victory by Iowa........that's really all I gathered from how they officiated that game.

I thought the refs were bad on the double foul. Not that they called it, but that they should have called a foul much sooner on whoever started the 'arm bar' moves. After a few seconds things escalated and then both were doing a lot of shoving.
