Ohio State fan

Lost in all this is the OSU security guard(assuming it is, red vest) shoving the OSU player to attend to Clark. The OSU player points at the security guard, looks upset. Kinda funny

You guys need to RELAX. You act like the osu fan acted any differently than any other 20 year old college kid would act.
She was either to dumb and caught up in the moment to see if Clark was alright. Or she was to embarrassed to go over and check.

Clark has the right to be on the court but wtf was she looking at that she didn’t see her, she had to have known to be looking where she was going considering all the fans already storming the court.

I suspect Clark thought she had a clear path and the girl she ran into was late to rush to the court.

Let's face it...it was two people running in different directions and accidentally ran into each other. I think CC got blindsided more and was caught off-guard. The other girl seemed to get popped pretty good, too. That's how car accidents happen every day. Not saying storming the court is right, but it happens after any big upset in high school and college. Just happened the best player in the country got sideswiped, otherwise it would have just been seen on some bloopers tape.

Yeah, nothing about this collision was intentional - tho I think the student should potentially face some disciplinary action if she can be identified.

I can’t get over the social media idiocy, that somehow Clark flopped from that for some bizarro reason.

CC is a winner so the hate will automatically flow towards her,.. get used to it, this is how it works.

I get the hate for stuff she does in-game. This is something that makes zero sense. There was a real danger she could have been seriously injured there.

I agree except for the part about "but wtf was she looking at that she didn’t see her, she had to have known to be looking where she was going considering all the fans already storming the court." In one of the clips that isn't started at the exact split second to make CC look like she saw the fan, you can see that CC is looking left toward the large mob of people. This isn't on CC at all, and even though she probably sometimes oversells falls hoping to draw a foul in games, she wasn't faking on this collision at all. It looks like she took a blow to the ribs area from the fan's left arm. But I agree, the fan was just being a fan. Too embarrassed or herself shaken up to go check on CC. Also, there is no way security would have let her anywhere near CC at that point anyway. It was an unfortunate accident. The fan has a story to tell over beers for the rest of her life now.

Caitlyn Clark, the Iowa player who can weave her way through five defenders, all while dribbling a basketball…… and can’t avoid a plump woman who she definitely saw and initiated the contact with. Caitlyn obviously misjudged the force of a woman that size and got the wind knocked out of herself.
Have you always been a fool or did this just come on this weekend. Go home, idiot.

Since luckily there was no longer term injury, I kind of hope that she isn't identified. She was just caught up in the moment like many of us have been numerous times.

Haters gonna hate..trolls gonna troll...twitter attention whores trying to get likes and retweets...they all trying to cash in or be heard...just leave the girl alone - move on - this wont be the first nor the last attack on CC! The amount of trash about her on twitter right now and in forums is disgusting. I hope it subsides today. It's her birthday today and she should not have to hear this - I hope she doesn't read twitter!

I don’t want her to get kicked out or something, but bring her in, read her the riot act and emphasize to the student body as a whole that they want the students to celebrate with the team, but they HAVE to wait for opposing team to exit the court. This goes away forever if someone ever gets seriously injured.

No accountability for running onto a basketball court where you don’t belong and knocking down the top women’s basketball player trying to exit the floor? I suppose you also support forgiving all debt incurred by students.

This fat-a needs to be identified and receive some sort of punishment.

Foul on Clark. Lady beat her to the spot and CC trucked her.

Has anyone asked the lady how she is doing?

Didn’t think so.

Oh, the world we live in.

When your kid acts up in class im guessing you yell at the teacher and give Jimmy a new tablet. And when Jimmy doesn't play first team in Jr High BBALL, you want to speak to the coach instead of telling Jimmy to go work on his game if he wants to play.

You're soft.

Nah, brah. She needs to pay for her much-publicized idiocy.

She caught sight of her out of the corner of her eye to prevent a head-on collision. That suckeye fan was on the court, where she shouldn't have been. She was looking at her phone. Typical suckeye fan, you arsewipes never do anything wrong.

Lol. Nice stretch there. WTF does student loans have to do with anything? (But for the record, no I'm against forgiving student loans outside of programs that were established with a promise to do so). Anyway, I'm not that invested in whether this OSU student is punished or not either way. When I was a student decades ago I rushed the field lots of times. Technically shouldn't, but I did. Iowa students have rushed the field/court many times. Shouldn't, but they have. I don't think it is a big deal to hope that nothing more comes of an accident where luckily CC wasn't seriously injured.

All over Twitter, CC is getting blamed, did it on purpose, flopped. An Ohio State and an ESPN employee took shots at her.
Not quite sure why so many are getting upset over this. Of course there are going to be a few out there that just likes to stir the pot but after I saw the video of the incident, it was just a fan being careless-dumbass. CC even seemed to shrug it off and OSU apologized for that idiot fan.

Well, it sure seems like a lot of people actually believe CC deliberately ran into the fan, then flopped, and faked being hurt to distract from loss. It makes no sense for her to do that. I doubt it would occur to her that the aftermath was still being filmed. People looking for an excuse to hate her.

Certainly agree with your comment. Someone on the Buckeye site said it was all Caitlin's fault because she was running off the court full speed avoiding the handshake line. Not true, she was in fact in the handshake line but being trolled big-time for it nonetheless.

Yeah, that's why the other girl literally leaves the ground/flies sideways for a few feet - because there wasn't any collision.

This gets early frontrunner status for stupidest faux controversy of 2024. No this wasn’t intention. One girl running close to full speed ran into another who was also running. One got knocked off balance but kept her feet, the other fell down and lost her wind for a min.

Thankfully no one was seriously injured.

Yeah, not understanding what the big issue is with some. It was an accident - not intentional - let it go

The comments here are insane. The fan was running while taking a selfie and drills a player and it's the players fault?!? wtf.

This is just another national thread proving that lots of people outside of the state of Iowa think she flopped, a lot of posters on this site just have fan-boy blinders on.
You seem to indicate Caitlin flopped. The thing I don't understand is what possible motivation could there be to do such a thing. If you do believe she flopped, why would she do that? And that's why I dismiss the conspiracy spreaders - because it doesn't make any sense.

Most fans of opposing teams don't care,.. they will cheer for anything negative that happens to her..

For sure it wasn't planned. My guess if she flopped would be she anticipated something worse and it didn't happen. I also would be a bit pissed off if I were Clark. If she played for OSU and it happened at IC, guessing most on here would question what happened. The bottom line is that it (the incident) should have never happened.

Really didn't look like they collided all that much. Clark put her arms out (not to intentionally hurt her or anything) and the lady got pushed aside.

When I think of collision I think of bodies actually hitting each other.

The B1G is on this! lol

Full text of the tweet:

Big Ten statement regarding safety protocols in light of Sunday's court storming incident involving Caitlin Clark:

“The safety and security of student-athletes, coaches and staff is of upmost importance. The Big Ten requires host institutions to provide adequate security for visiting teams from their arrival for a game through their departure. If adequate security is not provided, there is a process in place that begins with a private reprimand for the first offense, public reprimand for second offense, and the discretion to implement a fine plus additional penalties for a third offense. We routinely review our policy as needed to ensure a safe environment for everyone.”
