Maybe the conference - or the NCAA, across the board - should look at instituting 1 coach's challenge for situations exactly like that bad call at the end of OT of the PU/NEB game.
And the on-court refs don't get to look at the replay to review, because they'll likely leave the call as they made it to try and save face.
But for cases like this (& the end of the Rutgers/OSU game), do it like in MLB where challenges and reviews are called into a central 'league office'; do the same here. On-court refs then forced to abide by what the 'office' says it should be.
There's bad calls that hurts teams during a game (both squads) - happens every game, sometimes frequently - and then there are bad calls that are very much involved in determining who wins. There needs to be more accountability and leeway to prevent those types of situations where a questionable call (or non-call) directly influences the determination of a game winner.
