The next great kid to come out of Iowa. His opponent wasn't chopped liver and Thomsen looked to score whistle to whistle. 3 or 4 great boot scoots...should make Flo's "Dirty" replays. Awesome scrambler. A pic of him should be up in Brands office right under Spencer Lee. A 1A kid tho so that might turn some of you off.

Others to consider:

Marinelli.. Anderson looked good but Marinelli dominated the #5 kid at his weight class.

My Dad, brother, and myself made our annual trek to the state tourney this past season. HE was the one we ALL were impressed with the most. And, that's saying quite a bit when you had Stroker, Max Thomsen, and others. Not stop motor, all kinds of technique, and took down one of the West twins.

He is the definition of Iowa style to the point you almost think you are watching a young Tom or Terry. I hope the coaches drove him home last night.

Thumbs down! :p Marinelli all the way. He beat a higher ranked opponent and has been FULLY committed to this program for some time.

I really like Thomsen as well, fun to watch. But I give it to The Bull.

Great point in the FULLY committed comment and I agree with u that Marnelli stole the show. I'd love to get Thomsen committed early. I believe he's only a junior correct? Lee and Thomsen is one hell of a start to class if morning* can get it done.

Speaking of Lee, the Young Gun family I was sitting next to said he never talks college decision with anyone and his own grandma doesn't have a clue where he's going.

Thomson is a sophomore I believe.

Thomsen is only a soph.

I'll go ahead and be the bonehead in the room, but there's something about Marinelli that makes me nervous at the college level. He reminds me a lot like Nick Moore, seems very flat footed. Relys a lot on popping the elbow doubles. Granted that's based only on the couple of matches that I have seen.Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's committed, and he is a highly ranked recruit that we all blame Brands for not getting. Feel free to talk some sense into me.

Humbly disagree. His base/foundation reminds me of Brands/Metcalf. His double is explosive. Moore made me nervous bc he was on his heels a lot. Couldn't react on the college scene. Alex will be a beast.

Pump...for one, Alex loves the sport. You can tell and with Nick, you just kinda felt he didn't want to be there.

Marinelli has a go get em attitude, excellent double, great reshot and just wants to punish people. I kind of didn't like that he picked neutral...tough rider or not, he's going to have to be able to get off bottom. Also going to have to ride and turn. With his motor, going to be tough on his feet.
