PMac gone for a bit

I agree that Patrick's anxiety is probably not being "caused" by social media, but some of the crap I have read about Fran showing special treatment to his sons, for example, certainly can't help. Anxiety and other mental illness is way more complex, and I suspect Patrick has been and will be getting help from professionals, who will look for root causes and make suggestions how to address the problem. As others have said, this is likely a problem that Patrick will need to deal with for a long time. He is fortunate to have a really great support system around him. We can't help much, but sometimes a few bad or good words can exacerbate or improve what the person is experiencing.

hopefully with behavioral therapy (and maybe medication) he can learn to cope and get back to functioning the way he needs to

Patrick takes Indefinite leave of absence.
Team starts to Play well. Very well.
Patrick comes back, to much rejoicing.
Team plays like dogshit again and Patrick plays worse than before.

Coinsidence? Maybe he‘s just not ready yet.

Totally agree, we are much better without him on the floor. Go have a sad somewhere else. Upper Iowa perhaps?

I think Connor is too cocky and mouthy for his own good but I do think Patrick is a really good kid. He was awesome with my nephews at the Garza camp last summer. I just gotta think with all the nepotism stuff at Iowa and the big ten being the most viewed conference with the biggest venues he might be much better at a smaller school where he can get away from being in the fishbowl that being the coach's kid has to be at a p5 school. That has to be tough and could be a source of his anxiety

I really want the best for the kid, I hate seeing him struggling like this but his dad isn't doing him any favors playing him this much right now with so much on the line
