2222 here is a bet for you. If CJ is starter this fall you will never post here (sadly we know you still would under another name) and if Rudock starts vice versa here. How about it since you are so confident and in denial about him leaving.Originally posted by Hawkeye2222:
since JR has not ben officially been announced as leaving, I feel he will end up the starter, just because CJ is named the starter FOR THE SPRING PRACTICE, DOES NOT mean he will be the starter this fall, the spring 2 deeps change all the time.
also Coaches at every school does this to use as MOTIVATION to make players work harder to get better, if not throwing the dep ball was a mental thing with JR now is the time to work on that, if it is a ARM STRENGTH maybe its time to hit the weight room harder with Doyle,
who knows it might have been a confidence thing in/with his receivers. remember GD and Kennedy started giving the Receivers more lee way in how they can run their routes. when you are QB that is taught to throw from point A to point B that can shake up things for a QB , when a WR can change their routes on the fly. now the QB as to adjust as well,
it is one thing to say do it, but it is something different when it comes to doing it,
and as so many keep saying MW was a FB playing RB when IA had no other healthy RB available to use. the 2015 season right now has 5 RB's to choose from and 1 coming in in June and 4 of them have the biggest thing that has been missing and that is BREAK AWAY SPEED.
Canzeri was 4.4 but is down to about 4.5
Parker 4.4 40
Wadley 4.4 40
Graham 4.4 40
that is a lot faster than MW 5.65 40

I asked Blair when an official statement will come out from the University and he said nothing will likely happen until March 25th, which is the date of the spring presser.Originally posted by TankHawk:

Yep.Originally posted by icantfindausernamethatisntused:
Im happy for both because both are quality QB's capable of playing at a high level. CJB obviously has more physical talent. Jake has more experience and makes smarter decisions (according to the coaching staff -- bottom line, both QB's are told what to do, and Jake is the one that is able to make the right decisions more often).
I'm mainly happy because now we won't have to go through another season of fighting amongst Iowa fans about who the better QB is.

Not knowing JR, his stats last yr was pretty impressive. I've heard he can't go deep, weak arm? What is the probs he had at Iowa. 60%, 16 vs 5 incepts, sounds really good to me. Iowa fans are obv happy he's history, just wondering why.
Seriously, why do you come on here and act like some expert analyst, when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about except for what you heard a couple anouncers say. What was his arm 'issue'? Evidence? (everyone knows that, right, lol)Originally posted by Aegon_Targaryen:

Seems to be quick to check down. His arm is an issue and many of his deep throws were floaters that were easy to pick off. At times he would get rattled and couldn't seem to shake out of it. Noticed on more than a few occasions that he would completely not see a wide open receiver.(There were a couple games this year, where the announcers pointed this out. Also, he got injured quite a bit here and there. Nothing too serious, but he was always getting banged up, and missed a few games in both his starting seasons because of it.
Academic schedule made it difficult for him to stay on the teams schedule, and the team had to adjust to his at times. Nothing wrong with it, but it does probably cause problems.
Whether his faults were all him, or a combination of his lack of arm and coaching is up for debate. If he goes to Michigan and gets a chance to start, we will find out. Harbaugh likes a moreaggressive approach to the passing game, powered with a strong running game.
Strengths: Could be very accurate at times, and seemed to make quick decisions. Could get yards with his feet when needed. Did in fact seem to thrive in desperation at times.......just not often enough. Smart, will learn a playbook quick.
Seems to thrive IMO when he's allowed to just play and attack. The coaching strategy though is very conservative at times, and GD's pass calling often calls for short routes, despite where the 1st down marker is.
He's good.

He didn't 'float' his deep balls and MANY (as you say) were not picked off. Fact. He only threw 5 int's and I can't think of one of them that was a 'deep' ball except Pitt (longer than 24 yds.).. If the were so many deep balls easy to pick off, why weren't they? I'm not going to go on, but do you really think anyone takes your analysis seriously? Why do you act like you know what you're talking about? You really need attention that bad?
That's what Harbaugh likes? lmao. "Duh, He like to pass and run"! lmao. Really? You just described every coach. Is there such a thing as wanting a 'passive' passing attack and a 'weak' running game. You really don't have any idea how complicated big time football is, do you? You speak about it like 7th graders. If I started talking schemes and X's and O's to you, I would lose you in about 40 seconds and Greg Davis would lose you after his introduction. Quit embarrasing yourself and just watch the games with your buddies, if you have any, Good grief......

There's nothing I typed that was incorrect Matty. This analysis, isn't just mine, but the the analysis of many. Matty, there are an unusual number of Fuskers on this board. Go get them. You supposedly hate 'wanna-be experts', so they should be right down your alley.
Go get banned on their board, if you really want to be one of us.BTW, if you DO want to talk X's and O's, by all means let's do it.
I keep it down when talking on here, for the sake of being understandable. Also, go get laid and relax a little bit. Squeeze one off if you have to.
Also, speak when spoken to Matty, that's what good little girls do.
What you said about interceptions is totally inaccurate, as I have already demonstrated. It's irrefutable. If you are going to state that it's the analysis of many, you need to cite them and they must be credible, not other 'message board hero's'.Originally posted by Aegon_Targaryen:

Ok, let's talk Hawkeye X's and O's! Iowa is on defense. The opposing team comes out in one back, trips right with a single reciever to the left. The mike gives a strong right call. Where does 1tech line up? What is his responsibilty? Does he play a 1 gap or 2 gap technique? Where does the leo line up? When would he use a 'fold' technique? What is his coverage responsiblity? The FS gives quarters coverage call. What is quarters coverage? Don't look it up, you should know this! Where does the SS line up? What is his responsiblilty? Who are the 'force' players depending on flow? List the allignment, technique, and responsiblities for the entire defense. Hurry, Hurry, Mr. I want to talk X's and O's, lol. You have no idea what I'm even talking about, lol....
Should we move to the offense? lol. A '22' call is given from the sideline, what does it mean? The offense is in a balanced formation, the QB 'checks' the direction of the play. Why? What is he looking at? What is a 'read' route? What determines the route adjustment? When and why is a 'tag' call made? Come on, hurry up! How long have you been coaching? What is your training and education?
Just watch the games son, you have no idea...
You keep it down NOW since I put you in your place. You apparently forgot already how you used to post and things you've said?

Listen girly, I allowed you to speak, and now that you have you may quiet down. What you typed here, which is okay, I guess, has one glaring issue, before I can answer any of this.
I could easily disseminate this, hell, any 12 year old with google could do that. But why, Matty, is there an issue with what you are requesting here. Answer that question, and you will receive your education. Make it quick because I don't have all day.
Also, you can't put anyone in their place from the corner Matty. You are already in yours.
Now please don't try and play internet tough guy here Matty. You're not strong enough mentally, to make me think you're any sort of threat physically. Now be a good little girl and answer uncle Aegons request. I have other work for you by the way, so be ready to put time in. This isn't a request.
You said you wanted to TALK X's and O's, not have your 12 yr. old google everything I asked. I didnt' LOOK anything up, don't have to. To TALK X's and O's, you have to be able to reel it off the top of your head. I don't need the internet to TALK any of this, as I have learned it over the years coaching and through numerous camps and clinics, especially the Hawkeye clinics. That is why I can reel it off in seconds, and am QUALIFIED TO TELL YOU IDIOTS YOU DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. You won't find most of this on the internet since terminology is different from coach to coach, team to team. You're an idiot, like all these other 'geniuses' on this site, and have no idea about 'technique' or what anybody is supposed to do on any given play, thus making it impossible for you to evaluate anything. YOU SAID YOU WANTED TO TALK X'S AND O'S, you shouldn't have to look up anything. When coaches talk x's and o's they don't sit there with a smartphone looking up what each other are saying. lmao!Originally posted by Aegon_Targaryen:

You tried pulling the fast one with people when you tried convincing them that you were Stanley from Wilmington. Then, and ONLY WHEN you were called out for it, did you play the "I was just joking act". You're silly billy self didn't even make sure that Wilmington existed. You dolt. How dumb can you be Matty?
