Whether or not I will hit a deer with my new truck. I totaled the last one little over a week ago hitting one at 70 MPH. I've probably counted another 25 carcasses on the road since. They're like rabbits around here...
Where do you live? My 21 year old nephew lives at the Ozarks and just hit his 7th last week. Mind boggling to me.

Life is short, so why worry? If you’re not able to navigate life in arguably the greatest time to be alive, then you’re not trying. I will say though, ones health is probably the one thing that we have little control over and I guess I can understand people worrying about that for a number of reasons. Everything else is cake baby.

How much does he drive? I don't think I've had 10 cross in front of me lifetime and I've been fortunate to miss them all. How many has he avoided? Or is he trying to get them?

He does a fair amount of driving in the summer, but no clue how he does it. I see them along the road and set back a bit, had one cross in front of the car ahead of me one time. I think it’s lack of attention, probably looking at his damn phone.

I’m 59, been driving for nearly 45 years in Iowa and have yet to hit a deer. I’ve come dang close several times, and now I probably just jinxed myself.

100% #1 worry is whether my kids and grandkids will see the day where they no longer have a vote. I’m growing increasingly pessimistic in this country….and think we may be headed for a reckoning.
I agree. Government is constantly trying to control our lives more and more, mainly through bribery under the guise of "helping us", that someday a person's vote won't really matter.

I bought a new truck 6 months ago that has a big guard bolted on the front bumper. I've kind of hoped I'd hit one just because I don't think I will even need to stop or slow down. There is little chance of damage.

How are you feeling? I think you posted that you’d messed up your back.
As I’ve said many times, especially as I age, I dread driving at night this time of year. I saw a dead one on 1st Avenue just north of Mayfield last week. It was about 6am, and had to have occurred overnight. Which also tells me someone was driving too fast.

These days it’s a few things really…

Spiders crawling into my shoes at night and biting me when I put them on in the morning.

Spiders crawling into my mouth at night when I sleep.

Spiders nesting in my cupboards behind my Star Wars cups.

Cancer

Not having the knowledge of knowing which spiders are most likely to jump at me when on the wall or ground.

Walking through spider webs going to my car in the morning then thinking I have a spider in my collar or my hair the rest of the day.

lucas80’s kids

That’s about it really.

I'm, OK, thanks. I was coming back from my kid's cabin near McGregor and was on cruse at 70 on 151 north of Monticello when he came out of the median ( divided highway ) as I listened to all the post game pissing and moaning on the call in show. Boom! No breaking or anything, big 8 point ( as near as I could tell ) hit square on the left, front, air bag deployed and anti freeze everywhere. 20K in damage and they totaled it out.
Hey, years ago I had poured a foundation off 7th Ave. behind Regina somewhere and when we showed up to strip the forms there was an injured deer down inside the walls and couldn't get out. I called the police and a cop came out and shot the deer...

We had something similar when I was in high school in the summer. We were at baseball practice and some buck had gotten lost and was wandering through town in the middle of the day and got its antlers stuck in the nearby softball field fence. Town cop had to come put it down.

climate change and global warming, deforestation ,
With no planet you can forget about the rest…not sure people realize how much rising sea levels would cripple the world . Take some time To educate yourselves on how many large cities would be affected and it’s pretty scary. Imagine those people displaced and forced to move and what that massive disruption would do to surrounding countries etc…

National debt that we are doing absolutely nothing about and nobody talks about. Leaving this mess to the next generation will not help anything.
