Do you not have Long Term Car Insurance to cover most of this health worry? And no I am not an insurance agent or sell it. I plan to get it when I am about 60.
No. LTCI is not the affordable option it was for my Mother, who only was able to use it the last six months of her life.
It's become far more expensive and many policies total benefits generally are capped at around $100K which you can run through pretty quickly.

If that were true, life on earth is,l indeed doomed. This is the idiotic type of thinking that prompted Jane Goodall to state that: "Isn't it bizarre that the most intelligent animal to have ever walked our planet is destroying its only home?"
What seems bizarre to me is that you are among those humans so arrogant that they think Earth wouldn't have constantly changing climate conditions if we suddenly disappeared tomorrow.
And that a biologist who lived with gorillas was a climate expert.

That likely will be too late. I started in my early 50s and that was almost too late. It has become increasingly expensive and simply hard to attain. Add in any negative change to your health and it may just become impossible.

I wonder if Covid had an impact to this.

I don't worry about much of anything. Shit is going to happen and I just deal with it when it does. It makes zero sense to worry about something that has not happened.

Not the happiest in my marriage even though my wife is desperately trying to make me happy.

I also dread going to work, even though I make really good money and I have very little of a commute.

I don't worry about anything. I hope my wife, kids and grandkids have successful and healthy lives, but I don't worry about it.

Stupidly false. It is the GOP that is:
  • Spreading a false narrative that our elections are not secure.

  • Making multiple and aggressive efforts to overturn the results of free and fair elections.

  • Threatening violence against election official -- usually from their own party -- who refuse to overturn the results of free and fair elections.

  • Defending or turning a blind eye to an attack on our Capitol by MAGATS who refused to accept the result of a free and fair election. The only attempted coup in any of our lifetimes.
This is a coordinated movement designed to throw away any election results not to their suiting. To ignore this, or pretend it does not exist, is to be naïve at best and a traitor at worst.
Straight from the DNC you are way too predictable.

Where do you live? My 21 year old nephew lives at the Ozarks and just hit his 7th last week. Mind boggling to me.
Sounds like he needs to do what the Aussies do and mount a cow catcher on the front of their vehicle. Years ago I traveled through Queensland and probably counted around 3 dozen Kangaroo carcasses along the road one day.

Talk to a financial planner. Much has changed, including rates that are increasing by 50% from 2 years ago. Usage has shot up, and rates have gone with it. Plus, several companies are just getting out of the business. Finally, don't try to plan for a number of years, plan for an amount of $ you want to shield.

These days it’s a few things really…

Spiders crawling into my shoes at night and biting me when I put them on in the morning.

Spiders crawling into my mouth at night when I sleep.

Spiders nesting in my cupboards behind my Star Wars cups.

Cancer

Not having the knowledge of knowing which spiders are most likely to jump at me when on the wall or ground.

Walking through spider webs going to my car in the morning then thinking I have a spider in my collar or my hair the rest of the day.

lucas80’s kids

That’s about it really.

I literally just had the spider crawling into my shoe moment. I had just taken my shoes off on the back patio a few minutes before my wife brought up going for a walk. I stepped outside and slipped my shoes on and felt something under the arch of my foot. I thought it was a small pinecone or something similar. I pulled the shoe off and it was a large wolf spider.

When will you be putting your house up?

Funny. That little passing story on an off topic board will be with someone (me) for the rest of their lives and impact their behavior going forward...forever.

Somewhere in this thread I remember saying my strategy was to bang the shoes on the ground to knock any spiders out and you said something to the effect of that would just piss them off so they are extra angry when you put your foot in there. I think of that every time I knock my shoes on the ground before putting them on.

This time I didn't knock the shoes on the ground because I had just taken them off. The wolf spider was dark colored and was in the process of curling its legs up to die from me stepping on it so at first glance my mind was telling me it was a black widow. "This is it... this is how I go".

I had a shell shocked look on the walk and my wife kept asking what was wrong. She didn't seem to get the trauma from the spider/shoe experience.

The spider was roughly this size.

Yeah. I'm heading to a methadone clinic within an hour of that encounter.

Ok. Well it’s hard to argue your irrefutable propaganda then…
Hope you don’t have young children or grandchildren because if you think things are bad now , wait ten or twenty more years ….
Same shit they said 20 years ago....

I've never understood how throwing money at "climate change" is going to do a damn thing.
