Just for fun, I'd like to see who Hawkeye fans predict as commits for the 2017 class. They already have five committed and have about 60 more offers out there. Guessing they have 12-15 more spots, predict who they will get for those openings. This is not your wish list, but who you think will actually be here next February. More than likely, another 30-40 players may get offers before next year, so this is just to keep the interest going. If you want to give reasons for certain picks, that would make it more interesting.
I'll throw mine out there first and hopefully others will follow.

QB Kamron Fields, Tex Inside track, first to offer

RB Andrew Clair, SL
RB Jordan Rowell, ILL
RB Eno Benjamin, Tex I think the other two commit first, but we will find a spot if he turns down Mich.

WR Not sure we get any we have offered. Outside possibility of McQuitty, if Missouri doesn't offer

OT Mark Kellenberger, Ia
OT Zach Dykstra, Ia I think he gets an offer on Jr. Day

LB Colin Anderson, Ala Good Iowa connections

DB Djimon Colbert Just because it's Nebraska
DB Keontae Jones Better hitter than brother, wants a different school

When the smoke clears from all the 4* offers, I predict there will be offers to Iowa boys, Peter Nank OL, Jered Brinkman DT-C and Levi Duwa, DE

Anyone else care to share their thoughts?

So you've only got 60 offers out, and expect another 30-40? That's it!? For real?

We always knew the Capt wasn't big on recruiting...but damn...don't most programs have 100+ offers out right now?

To answer your question:

A four star

A couple 5.7 guys

A whole bunch of 5.5 - 5.6 guys

Somewhere between 38th and 50th in rankings.

(Being realistic)

Total list about 75 offers, counting the 5 commits and some that have already picked other schools, Gopher Dano. I think a little higher this year in total rankings, but we'll have to wait and see.

We get Colbert, Kallenberger, Shavers and ultimately Benjamin. I want,Dykstra, Vance and Duwa to get offered. Hopefull AJ can help us out with some big timers late.

Millhawk, I also like Dykstra, Vance and Duwa. I really like the receivers we have offered, but in researching them, I'm not confident we will get any of them.

I wouldn't be surprised if we end up 40th or higher with the small class. There could always be defections between then and now which would obviously bring the total up.

LMAO! MOVE ON TROLL! i don't care what he and the staff does with recruiting rankings as long as we continue to be ranked in the top 10 and march right through the west division undefeated again and keep all four of our trophies from our rivals. In case you didn't know it Iowa has already signed four 4 star recruits and are ranked in top 10 by rivals for 2017....not to mention we will probably only have 16-20 open spots so not sure we need over 10 offers for every opening we have. Throwing shit against the wall and hoping it sticks doesn't seem like it is working up north so why don't you just let us worry about having a relevant football, basketball, wrestling, and baseball program and you Goofs can keep on sucking

You mean they have four star heart, amirite?

Or are they four stars on the milehighhawkeye24 recruiting board?

I see a few three stars from the state of Iowa and a legacy recruit..

Btw, to fail to sign Epenesa would have been arguably the biggest miss in the Capt Kirk era for him. His dad played for Fry. He grew up, and I quote, "in a household that worshipped the Hawkeyes...was a Hawkeye fan since diapers."

So yeah, big congrats on landing that four star.

I see it playing out like my OP ITT, and I'll stand by that prediction.

You are right it is only 3 of them: According to composite rankings anyhow. Although Juan Harris was just recently downgraded, and . But AJ and Wirfs are both 4 star and for some reason I thought Kallenberger committed which would have made 3. Milehigh recruiting they are all 5 star at heart. All of them.

Your views are welcome, Gopher Dano. We are very happy with our first 5 recruits and think they will be great players with Iowa coaching. Everyone would like to have all the top * players, but it how they leave that is important. Your points are well taken, but nobody knows until they hit the field.

Speak for yourself, gopher dano is getting quite old if you look back on his trolling history....but none the less it is quite harmless being he is a gopher fan, not really much he can really say when it is all said and done.

For instance- "Iowa is such a little brother fanbase.
I'm not a Nub fan, but Nebby is head and shoulders above them" this is what goofer dano brings to the table. Its funny because his comments have no foundation. This quote for instance could be disproved by the scoreboard, overall record, and final ranking this year...actually anything he says has no foundation because he is just a miserable goofer fan trolling on a Hawkeye fan page (as always). Top 10 nationally in football, basketball, and wrestling....its great to be a Hawkeye! Go Hawks

U are so obsessed with Iowa recruiting u f@@king geek. I'm wondering if u got ran over by the guys carrying the goalpost at the dome 02 when we piss pounded u guys. When Neb or Minn finish in the top 10 come back and run your c@@k sucker u bum

I don't think Rowell commits and frankly don't know if I would want him to commit after reading his interview on hawkeyenation. Kid has no other offers and says he wants to go somewhere he can play day one and doesn't seem to like Iowa's style and lists three other schools as the ones he is most interested in (KU, Miami of Ohio and Missouri) Seems like a kid that would just transfer right away if he didn't play.

O'Rien Vance is LB from CR Wash...early commit to Iowa State
This story has been covered somewhere, I believe. Basically taken the FIRST P5 offer, but has stated publically that he's still looking. Also believe I read that academics are a slight problem right now. The family apparently moved to the Midwest, so there may not be any allegiance locally to anyone.

Not to sound like this is an insult, but at this time, I don't see am Iowa offer until very late in the process.

The ISU offer seems like the new coach's attempt to establish some cred with the Iowa high school scene. I guess he has already offered a Cedar Rapids area soph lineman.

I'm no expert, so I hope I didn't sound condescending.

Interesting info, David 1979. Did not see that interview.

Scout has Wirfs as a four star and in Their top 300. ESPN has epenesa and Juan Harris in their top 300. 247 has both wirfs and Harris as four stars and in their top 300. Scout and 247 both have epenesa as a five star and he's ranks third by 247.

That comment caught my eye also. He also said he wants to major in engineering or psychology both programs are pretty good at Iowa. I wonder with his speed if the coaches are thinking of a different position than rb.

I think Iowa is in on Jordan Rowell very early. Chicago Tribune story in Oct. said that he was a two way starter since his freshman year as a DB, sophomore year was breakout season as a RB. Very fast runner... 3rd as sophomore in state track meet 10.89 100 meter, said to run 4.39 40. Plays 3 sports football, basketball, and runs track. Excellent athlete...would think he wants to tote the ball. Expect his offers may blow up in the future.

I, along with many others here, fully understand that you are a bitter individual who loves to hate and stir the pot with negativity. That is fine, but while you are chugging bottle after bottle of haterade, just know that lots of your comments will slowly come back to pound you right in the b- hole. I am taking a total stab at this but guessing your a Minnesota Gopher fan? If not, feel free to correct me, but assuming you are, here are your recruits for 2017 to date since you felt the need to comment on how our class will shape out and wind up being ranked.

Commitment List

whoops there is no one there, literally there is no one, I mean I don't really know what to say.... that must really hurt knowing that while your hating on the hawks recruiting ability and potential- your team literally has nothing. I will repeat, NOTHING. That sucks for you and is what we call "dick in hand". I love a good argument as much as the next person but, damn gopher dano, you really shouldn't be such an open hater when your team probably has more offers out than the hawks do, and are yet to even get a commitment from a 1/2*, shit if your lucky, you might get a 1* based on how good your program looks right now. so again, keep spouting off on here and before long your self esteem and your "very little ego" are only gonna get smaller. Ladies love that. I will look forward to continuing this conversation since I am positive you will write back with a hate filled and nonfactual pile of garbage. The same kind of garbage that resembles your football team.

- I love you, Nic.

Kallenberger received an offer from KState a few days ago to add to offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska and Colorado State. I think Wisconsin and Oklahoma are looking at him as well.
