Spooner is my favorite poster. He may be the only thing keeping this board semi grounded.
I’m not sure if they still do that little get together at the bar in Waverly that we sent Gilman to the year he got everyone’s panties in a bunch but if they still do it I would like to nominate sending Spooner to represent us each year.Spooner - don't ever change!!!

having attended the Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic in Pittsburgh a number of times over the years I was always impressed with the number of Iowa recruits that wrestled for the Team USA and how well they fared against the Team PA kids... sadly as of late it has been watching most of the top recruits attending other schools and even Iowa HS wrestlers choosing to wrestle elsewhere. I will always be a Hawkeye fan but i feel in my heart that we really need to upgrade our recruiting because these latest HS kids are college ready when leaving HS and we need that infusion of talent and energy on the Iowa Team ASAP.

Joe's Knight Hawk is 3 blocks from Waverly-Shell Rock High School.
They only have 4 people on their roster, but their RTC staff is really good.
No one is forcing anyone to do this. Iowa is unique in that the HWC has taken on the NIL challenge. Not the case everywhere.
In regards to the topic and name of this thread, "recruiting". I'm 💯 for it. Everyone else is doing it so why not Iowa as well. Recruiting for the win!
Deluca is #9 P4P and #1 at 120lb
Ty Miller is #10 at 175lb and Jr. Miller is #6 at 190lb.
How many scholarships do you think Iowa will be allowed by University to offer?
That's a great question. I'm sure it will be a lot more then some other schools.
The top kids are expecting a full ride and a bunch of money. If we can't offer that to 3 or 4 of the top guys a year then we are where we will be for awhile. Fighting to finish second every year.
So, maybe capping at 14 scholarships? Maybe add a few each season for a few years?
