Recruiting?

Where did the extra 1-2 million come from?
How much income was earned in the bank from 2008 through 2022?
I’ll answer, literally nothing.
Easy. End of frosh year; 1.1mm, end of soph, 2.3 million, end of junior year; 3.6, end of senior year; 5 million. Money never sleeps.

Of course people will argue with everything on here but 5mm in the bank (yes, not income but after taxes) will garner about 200k a year...his point remains
It came from nowhere. I was using my numbers, implying that his point is not that far off. Again, then you have camps, endorsements, merchandise, etc. So if you want me to fill in the gaps, then I will. Someone said 4mm will get you 200k/yr, I corrected that "uncertain number" and made the point that another million would make that statement true. Again, the point was simply that the kid can live off NIL interest. Whether he needs 200k/yr or 150k/yr to live off of, he would have a nice lifestyle off of interests and royalties either way. But argue away

I’m willing that there are very few people with 5 million in investments only earning $150,000/year. My guess is they it’s closer to $250,000 to $500,000 on average before taxes.

That's A LOT of money! Iowa needs to do this to gain some traction. Bo will help bring in other top kids I believe.

Only if Bo wins. The stigma of TNT isn't going anywhere until we start winning some individual natty titles. They do seem to be recruiting harder, so that's a plus. If we get the Raney twins, Ross doesn't choose full time football - then we're starting something.

He's a stud. Former teammates with Davino, and I believe coached by Davino's dad....
Reminds me of young Gilman on his feet. Wins with physicality, underhooks, and short offense. Leg attacks aren't there yet. Good leg rider. Definitely someone to keep an eye on.

We NEED to get Bo on board he is a Spencer Lee type guy that could help rejuvenate the program!! Add the twins and all the sudden we have some Very Nice pieces to build around!!
Not saying I wouldn't want him in the lineup, but is anybody else over the whole 'eliminate so many schools a week' and draw out the recruitment from Bo? Don't ever remember thinking this during Spencer's recruitment, but between that and his constant pushing of his 'this is how hard I workout stuff,' it comes off as egocentric to me.

Just me??

OK - Get off my lawn 😀

Yes he has AJ levels of self promotion, but this is being a smart business man now. Pretty impressive for a kid half way through high school, but I bet dad had something to do with that. Having fewer stars to overshadow him compared to PSU may work in our favor.

If he leaves PA, I am guessing he ends up at either tOSU or OSU. JMHO. Only because I think he wants to stay close to home and so tOSU makes sense. If he is willing to travel far, then I think his connection to DT and the possibility of restarting tradition in a place that will have a lot of positive momentum would have a great appeal. As a side note - I am very seldom correct.

Losing out to them would be more painful than PSU. On a positive note we made it through one more week without being cut 😊. He did cut one bigger school this week with Northwestern. It won’t get interesting until mid to late August, when his list will be a normal size. Then it will be silence for months. Raney twins are more realistic, so we need to go after them just as hard. Ross would be amazing and he’s in our back yard, just a matter of him wrestling or doing football?

Impressive that you somehow managed to get AJ Ferrari into this. 🤣🤣🤣

I think you’re one of the better posters in our part of the internet.

Munaretto would be a great get for Iowa, he would follow after Deluca. I think both are career 125ers. Wonder if they try to bring in another 125 or if they just stick with the younger Ayala?

How has little Ayala been doing?

Younger Ayala is a backup type. Not expected to be a starter.

Not just you. But while social media has game-changed self-promotion, I don’t see a lot of future phenoms taking Bo’s marketing route. Having the “skill to get NIL” from several interested programs competing to recruit them will be enough for most.
From what I read on these sites, Bo has an extreme online presence and is talented enough to justify the hype. If “the most money” is his goal, he’s doing what he can to get it. I understand he’s a mat rat who loves the sport and any challenging match he can find. That, plus off-the-charts skill should comfort any “get off my lawn” fan whose team wins The Bo Sweepstakes. ;)

The kid from Montana might be better than younger Ayala.

Thanks. The programs who didn't call him right away at midnight is interesting.
I think part of it is that he is an Iowa kid who seems to be tied to Iowa to a degree. Then you throw in the football angle, and many teams aren't going to call him at midnight. How much effort do you put into a 10% chance to win over a 50/50 wrestler. That's like a 5% chance for a school without IOWA in their name.

Two thoughts: Iowa fans are scared poopless about every recruit choosing PSU, and even moreso a kid from Iowa. Second, there’s another big school in Iowa.

I would be shocked if Cael is seriously going after Ross. If he is it’s probably to drive up the price for Ross. Not to say I wouldn’t be pleased to get Ross. A stud. I just don’t think he leaves Iowa.

Two, I said “Iowa in the name”. Essentially all Iowa schools. I really think you guys are in front here. I’ve moved on from Ross.

Biggest hurdle is what sport he picks. If he was 100% wrestling I’m sure Cael would be trying harder for him.

100000000% Penn State is recruiting Ross. I have heard it from someone close to him that they want him and they are recruiting him hard.
