Saudi blood money golf field announced

I am kind of bunmed that Kevin Na and Talor Gooch are in this as well. Nobody mentioned them yet. They are more than just washed up old dudes.

Will the courses these guys play be banned from PGA competiton? Which 4 US courses are they playing?
Pumpkin Ridge (Oregon), Trump National (New Jersey), The Oaks (Boston), Trump National Doral (Miami)

Finally in the past year. Not the first couple years. The outfits can't leave bare skin though. Usually not particularly tight. No gay wrestlers. Also the wrestler with Syrian ancestry is not welcome.
Poor Billy and chuck

For all those calling DJ an idiot..
As someone else said short term gain. Sponsorship will dry up. His competitive golf career is over. He'll play against has beens the rest of his life and he's what 37? Hes already worth 50 mil. Im sure this money will change his life. If thats what he wants good for him.

Hes gonna make 200MM+ on this tour for the year and be back in the PGA by 2023 after a slap on the wrist. Book it. Neither him or his agent are stupid. The outrage over this is hilarious.

Probably. And his first press conference back where he has to do a mea culpa all he has to say is he did it for the money...and most of you would have too. So let's just go play golf.

Have the Saudis yet realized that they signed the wrong Koepka?

This tour will do about as well as the USFL. They're going to throw a ton of money at it, for sure. Deep deep pockets behind this.

I have no plans to read 3 pages on this topic, but can someone explain the Saudi Blood money part? I mean I totally understand they are poor on human rights, 9/11 bombers were mostly Saudis and the murdered reporter a few years ago.... but we keep putting gas in our cars every day. We know they use their money and oil to buy influence so why is golf where the line is being drawn???

Because they (Saudis) really dislike everything America stands for and if not for our money/wealth they would have nothing to do with us? Just spitballin’ here...

Well, I get that, but this isn't a secret. We have been buying their oil for decades and selling them arms. Finding it really odd that a few golf tournaments are where people are drawing the line. Seems to me if this was such a concern a line would have been drawn long before a golf tournament.

I guess good for him. He won't be playing on the PGA Tour anymore and I would expect his sponsors to be dropping him soon. If all you care about is money he should be happy. Taking money from someone like the Saudi's shows how much character you have in my opinion.
Like old Joe begging them for more oil? 😆

Let's slow down on the all of our gas and oil is Saudi mantra. 5% of our oil imports come from Saudi Arabia. Personally, I use only oil and gas from the USA. Yes, I can tell the difference, the exhaust smells like freedom coming out the tailpipe. If you guys want to use that cheap Saudi gas that's on you.

I dont think this is "the" line, just the latest, although this attempt to use sports to improve image hits closer to home. There were similar protests and calls for people to forgo the event leading up to the Saudi F1 race in 2021, and those same things continued into this year. The Saudi's human rights record and Jamal Khashoggi.'s murder were/are the two main talking points. With the F1 situation, they had loaded up 100 million per, so much money F1 even got their drivers to race after a missile strike. That said to show that a few people clamoring over golf or what channel you can watch the tournament is not going to change their decision.

This particular "outrage" over the LIV Tour seemed to come to a boil after Phil Mickelson's dumbass comments. Phil is a polarizing figure, even more so now, and after his comments were released it forced golfers to speak publicly and really stoked the division. On top of that Greg Norman is a terrible spokesperson and they kept just digging a deeper hole.

What's the Russian gas and oil like?

Because the modern PGA Tour was "founded" by the Big 3 of Arnie, Jack, and Player. It's an institution that is being undermined by dirty Saudi money.

The players crossing the line to play in the LIV are nothing more than mercenaries, hired guns, traitors, or extremely high priced whores bought and paid for by their Saudi pimps.

People don't like to see their institutions brought down. The PGA, through all it's faults, still dumps a ton of money back into growing the game. Is the LIV a steward of the game? Do they even care about the game? No, to both questions. Hired guns and pimps in robes.

Still waiting for Joel to tell me which TV Network is going to carry this?

Is having more tournaments and options for players and spectators not growing the game? I mean, the PGA doesn't have the best history with ladies and minorities, etc. Have they changed... sure, but they've had issues of their own. I guess I don't get the big deal on these new golf events. If the PGA is so good they have nothing to worry about and if they have areas to improve this competition will help them get there faster. Politicians should take the brunt of the blame for not doing more on the human rights issues, arms sales and other problems SA has.

They have the oil...they almost single-handedly control the world’s economy. They could destroy Russia in 2 months if they wanted to turn on the spigot. They win’t Because Russia is useful to them and their world view. Do you think it bothers Saudi if America has hard times economically? Americans will do anything for oil and Saudi understands this...We is the addict and Saudi is the merchant. You can trust Saudi Arabia a little more than Russia or China...but not much.

Many places around the world think of the USA similarly to how we think of SA. We’re kinda warring against someone, somewhere, nearly all the time since forever. And it’s not always “virtuous”. Just sayin’.

The tourney is next week. What network is signed up to carry it? I'll hang up and wait.,
The competition will begin at 2 p.m ET, with free live streams available on LIVGolf.com, YouTube and Facebook. According to a press release, coverage of the event will include 60 on-course microphones, including ones worn by players and caddies, and 50 cameras capturing the action.

Looks like the rabbit ears crowd is out of luck.

The PGA made an official announcement stating there will be consequences if any player participates.
As there should be....DJ (and other American tour card carrying players) will get an injunction and then the lawyers start their billing hours......However, DJ/the players agreed not to compete vs the PGA Tour.........what the USGA does is their own business.....but DJ/American players playing in PGA tour events and the Ryder Cup and other PGA sanctioned events is in serious jeopardy until things get settled. I don't know which, but I would think DJ needs the PGA Tour more than the Tour needs DJ. It will be interesting to see how the Euros playing on the American Tour will be affected.

Holy phuck it just got worse, PHIL just joined. SMH
I will be interested in seeing if Phil will be invited to Augusta in 2023. It is an "invitational" and NOT an official PGA sanctioned event. I'm sure Phil will be "good to go" with the USGA and Royal and Ancient.......but I seriously doubt if he will play in another PGA Championship or Player's Championship or Ryder Cup and Fed Ex Cup until this is settled (in his favor) or he apologizes.
