I had to buy a new charging cord for my phone yesterday. Of course, Walmart keeps those locked up. So I had to track down an employee and interrupt him from wasting time on his phone while working to unlock the cabinet. And then I’m not even allowed to hold the items so I can read the specs to determine which one I want to buy. When I leave WalMart and the person checking receipts just nods at me while I walk by is the one time I feel white privilege.
Then he has to carry the item to the register where I’m finally allowed to touch it once I have paid for it.
It pisses me off that because other people steal things it has to be exponentially more difficult for me to purchase the same item.
