Session III Thread

All of Brandon's action in the first. Which force the stall warning helped in the overtimes I thought

He looks very well rounded. He will be a fun one to follow.

I've been watching this kid since 2nd grade (Partnered with my kid at clubs occasionally) and I'll tell you he was in a different league from the very start. His first match was rough, but looks like he got the rust out and should be wrestling in the finals

Not looking for style points here. Way to punch your ticket to tonight, Brandon!

Collica is tough, but I actually like that match-up better than Mayes. Mayes' quickness and explosiveness are pretty scary.

I get what everyone is saying about Sorenson and you guys are absolutely right. It's all about survive and advance at this point and that was a gutsy win.
That said, BS is so frustrating to watch sometimes. He took one committed shot in almost 10 minutes of wrestling. Just feels like he could've accomplished that takedown much earlier and not had to have sweat and worked that hard. When he commits to a shot, he's pretty efficient. But a win is a win. Very happy for him. Hope we finish strong here and Brooks and Burak bring it.

Definately agree. It seemed that BS had several times to keep forward pressure in the 3rd and OT and could have forced JS out and gotten that second stall call, but he'd let up and move back to the center.

Let's get two more in the semi's and have our two conso's get to the AA podium.

Getting 5 into semi's makes the race somewhat interesting.

I'm just spitballing in here but maybe it's possible that it is easier to get a take down after 10 minutes of wrestling because the other guy is wore down versus him being fresh and being able to counter or defend your shot early in the match... just a thought

Interesting tidbit --- at 157, Nolf's next opponent is 15 seed Walsh from Rider, who has scored 11 pts. in each of his three wins, including against #2 and #7 seeds

In theory I agree with you but Collica had to beat both Tsirtsis and Mayes to get here. He is wrestling pretty damn well

I've been impressed at the rate stalling has been called. It's been rather quick at times but it seems rather consistent. Seems to be at a rate of 3 or 4 attempts or shots to 1.
They still don't do a good enough job of calling stalling on the top wrestler, IMO

How many offensive points has Sorenson given up this year? I can't think of any other than Zain. Did Sueflohn get him at the Midlands maybe? His defense is impressive and he knows there aren't many guys that can score on him. He's so efficent when he gets to the leg that he's like a sniper. One shot, one kill and he picks his opportunities very carefully. Like it or not, he's very effective.
