Several words come to mind about Brooks: untrustworthy, unreliable, flake, serial monogamist (look it up), quitter, irresponsible, imature.

Do you think OLineman care about OCs? How dumb are you? They look at who puts lineman in the NFL.
If he was coming to Iowa because of Brian Ferentz then he probably wasn’t going to be academically eligible.
Maybe if he and a couple other OL came in, we might see an offense that can move the ball. Our problems start with the line, running and throwing.
That makes no sense. If it were Doyle, why would the defense be so good? The OL has tanked since BF was promoted. That’s got to be the biggest issue. OL coaching and recruiting has been terrible. KF should take over himself for the duration of his head coaching. He’s not really doing anything else.
After the Proctor incident, I've learned that commits mean absolutely nothing. Until they sign the dotted line, they aren't actually committed. It's foolish to take a 17 year old at their word, let alone one being offered hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I watched the Kennedy/Cedar Falls playoff game as the winner was going to play SEP; watched Brooks on many plays. He truly is massive, but often slow and awkward. Also seemed to wear down as the game went on.
He looked to me like he'd be a project. Here's the game, judge for yourself:

it could be just that he wants to be actually offered by his oc instead of being foisted upon the new guy. if nic is someone we really want, get the new oc to pursue him and perhaps he recommits.
The last three years have seen zero development in comparison to the history of the program. Iowa has always seen significant growth from its OL over the course of a year. We are on year two with pretty much the same line as we had last year. There was high hopes for this year and we are last in the country. Say what you want about the qb, but the fact remains we can’t run either.
Honestly saw him get flat backed by a DL from Linn Mar who was probably 6 inches shorter and 100 lbs lighter. If you watch the game on hudl, you will see it.
I don't know why but the "C" of Cedar Falls "CF" logo has always drove me nuts. Unless its suppose to look like something I am not catching.

With Brooks decommiting how about a phone call to Grant Brix telling there's an opening for him.
Look to the portal and modify schemes as needed so guys can come in ready to go. Offense system should be set up such that a player can come in the spring and learn it well enough to start in the fall.
Completely abandoning HS recruiting is obviously not the way to go. But the expectation cannot be that you'll have all of the o-line coming in as true frosh and learning the system for years before taking part in the rotation. Has to be a bigger precentage of incoming portal players and planning accordingly for the turnover.

I think it’s more of a “his effort is very questionable as is his attitude/thinks his **** don’t stink/dominates cuz he’s playing regular HS talent” response.
(Just saying cuz I’ve been told the same thing by a couple folks who’ve seen him play a few times)
Or Caleb Pyfrom from Omaha Central who wanted to go to Iowa but was told we were full. Ferentz liked him.
