So why didn't we shake hands?

I agree......If Fran didn't want to shake hands, that's up to him. However, he should have at least let the players shake hands if they wanted to. The "T" was a little ridiculous. I think Bohannan was just trying to push him away when ND hooked him. He just got a little high......no ill intent there that I saw. There was some major flopping there on ND's part.......Oh well, it's over, time to move on. :)

We obviously have completely different opinions about the best way to handle that situation.

No sheet. You would let your players be exposed to unsportsmanlike conduct and think it is ok and I would call bullshit when that is happening AND the opposing coach is sticking it in your face. But hey.... feel good about it.
I LOVE what Fran did. His players deserve his support.

Ref waived off the shot. The ref looked a little pissed too.

This the ref was pissed. Most refs will give the head coach a look or shake their hands even some times. The ref waved it off and walked off without looking at anyone. He was pissed.

To be fair he was also pissed after the JBO tech.

Regardless its a 11pt game and your trying to steal the ball w/under 4 seconds. Not a smart move.

Interesting post on the ND message board...

"Late game and post game ugly theatrics are becoming too common this year. At some point the UND team needs to look at itself and say "maybe it's me."

Fights at end of ndsu game, Iowa refusing to shake hands, sdsu and usd refusing to schedule us. It may end up being more than our record pushing Jones out."

No flopping? Look at that shit again! Major flop. Guy is a stud, then he hugs JB and then acts like he is assisted when pushed away. BS

You pull Jok after he gets knocked to the ground. Trying to protect him from being hurt. You see an ND player mugging Bohannon and Bohannon ends up with a technical. And then to top it off, you see Baer get mugged for no reason when he's not even looking at the ND player who lunged at him.

Now as you are walking to shake hands you see the opposing coach motioning to the officials to count the basket.

You turn and walk away, so mad you are talking to yourself and even mimicking the "count it" motion of the opposing coach.

And of course half the couch coaches are on here claiming they would have done things differently. And your claim to that is this whining and hollering on this board about Fran avoiding an incident and walking away. o_O Excuse me if I think you are way more panty waste than Fran will ever be.

We wanted a coach that would act like he cared about basketball. We hired an Irish guy who coached in Philly. Anyone who has a problem now should have known when Fran was hired that he's hot tempered.

It's ok to be emotional. It's ok to be hot tempered. If that offends someones senses, too bad.

Thank you. Great post

I can't blame Fran. ND was trying to get the "garbage" bucket at the end and its cheap.

The last 3 minutes of that game was chippy and there were alot of exchanges between players and even coaches.

Best not to shake hands and move on. What happens if ND says something and Iowa players responds. Probably a fight or something and then you have suspensions.

I listened to the clip. Why didn't he say that to the coaches? That would have been a better move.
Better move in your world you mean. There is a distinction there.

What I like about it is he did whatever he did because he can. He lives his life how he wants to live it. I know that bothers some people, and frankly that tickles the hell out of me.

Same thing. This time its At the end. Next time it might be early in the game.

I have a hard time imagining the string of plays that ND had at the end EVER happening again... let alone EARLY in a game.

Not sure I've ever seen an ending like that at any level of play. Then the ND coach proceeds to act like a D saying to count the bucket....

This should be the start of a whole new thread. So maybe instantly jumping down Fran's throat isn't such a clear cut choice? I know I was screaming at the television, why couldn't the refs see Hooker grabbing Bohannon and tugging on him like some creep!?!?

Bobby Hansen wouldn't even make eye contact with that Alford-infected scumbag, Jones. Eff those guys. Right in their backdoor.

Didn't realize there was a fight after the SDSU game.... Frans move to not shake hands looks even better now!

Holy strawman, Batman. I don't see many (any?) people here who are overly upset.

What Fran did wasn't unreasonable, and I really don't have much of a problem with it. However, I wish he would have just shaken hands so this wouldn't even be a discussion.

The only insults and profanity I have seen is from those who support Fran's actions - so maybe you want to look the other direction if you're looking for people hollering/whining about the discussion.

Read the first ten or so posts and posters were claiming it was all about the steal and last second shot. Wasn't so much as just that, as it turns out. I'm saying what I think and if that offends anyone, well, lump me in with that overbearing and brutal Fran McCaffery who cares more about his team than he does shaking a guys hand when emotions are running high and things could get worse.

All this, "If I were Fran", stuff is what I'm complaining about. Not just because I agree with what Fran did, but because I am not going to claim to know what I'd have done at the end of that game. Probably been thrown out when Jok got run over for beating the guy who did it until they pulled me off him.

But you know what, I don't claim that I'd make a good coach, or make the proper decision in the heat of the moment (which I think he did this time) every single time.

There was also the "T" with Hooker grabbing Bohannon's arm with 30 seconds left.

This. That looked planned. The guy pinched JBo's hip to the point Jordan said F this and shoved him away. Then the flop. At the same point another ND player pointed toward the play. It all looked like an act, if you watched the slow-mo replay over and over like we all did...
There were a few other shenanigans towards the end. Not your usual foul end of the game. Yet, not a bad script from a coaching stand point when you are down and need to fake the refs into getting you some help.

No shit. The world needs less phony people, not more.

Fran isn't phony: deal with it.

You're certainly free to voice your opinion - that's the point of message boards.

With that said, I am a little confused as to why you are complaining about other people voicing their opinions.
