So I had the chance to hear a rerun of Dave Ramsey last night, and he made a great financial point. A lot of our young adults aren't necessarily stupid when it comes to life and finances, they are just ignorant. They've pretty much listened to a socialist professor on tenure who has NEVER been on a real payroll and cannot be fired due to the tenure BS. So when it comes to finances and life they are just ignorant.

Socialist progressive college professors have no value to society. They are insufferable people who think they are always the smartest people in the room. These type of people belittle people who work in skilled labor.

How did they get tenure?

As Ferdinand Lundberg explained in his magnum opus, America's 60 Families, in 1937, Wall Street is a bastion of Republicanism. They were asked to manage the endowments. When asked to manage, all they asked was to have a few appointees to the board who were favorable to their ahem...values. Colleges are definitely run by Marxist profs. However, it is Republicans that vote them in and grant tenure.

Why do Republicans, who control the endowments of the universities and thus, the board of directors, give tenure to said Marxists?

Can you please provide a list of socialist professors by name. Seriously, if you’re going to call them out, don’t hide behind the keyboard, call them out by name.

Just about every professor that is not at a private university. When have you not known the majority of professors to be liberal?

What evidence do you have that the majority of professors are liberal? The fact that they're professors?

Higher education? I have 3 degrees and 7 years of higher education, I’ll start and end with my experience at 3 different universities.

Virtually anyone who has attended college will tell you the same, it’s not a secret so I’m not sure why you are surprised.

If there's one thing I know about young people, it's that they always follow the instructions and advice of well-off, educated, authority figures.

I was wrong in the last thread.

This is without equivocation your most stupid post ever.

Also, there is a huge difference between a liberal and a socialist. One can be, and usually is, a liberal without being a socialist.

But yes, university professors are somewhat more likely to be liberal than conservative. That's in large part because universities are about spreading new ideas. Conservatives aren't exactly known for that.

Spoken by people who have never been in ANY academic situation................I have two degrees, 7 years of college education, and 10 years of academic work and have never encounter ANY professor that spouted "socialist" ideas. The only time Marxism ever came up was in a Geographic Thought class when discussing political ideas throughout history and of the ~8 papers we had to read that week, it was only in one of them.

Both of you are talking out of your ass.

Many professors are liberal some aren't. Most are not far left socialist boggiemen trying to in doctrinate their students. Different fields tend to attract different types of people. The law school folks, in general are really different from the art department or the engineering faculty. From my experience professors tend to have a strikingly narrow group of things that they are really interested in. They tend to be very interested in their niche almost obsessively. Many of them lack perspective on some of the realities of job prospects in the real world because they have a unique experience, although I would suggest many are aware of their own naivete regarding 'real world' experience.

The poster was questioning the statement that most professors are liberal. They clearly are. That was all I was saying

So I’m a professor. Am I a socialist? Do I indoctrinate my students? I’d really like to improve my performance. Could you please point to the day and time in which I spewed my socialist trap? I’d like to get that out of my curriculum, since that curriculum is approved by both the state of Iowa and the commission on accreditation of allied health programs.

Depends. Again, I teach in a community college. The faculty range from tie dyed wearing hippies from the 60s teaching psychology to a past president of the county chapter of Americans for Prosperity and Republican Party.

Oh I am definitely a college graduate, and I flat out had a few professors that spouted their left wing ideology more than teaching a subject.

The generalization mistake here, is assuming anyone "non-conservative" is, by definition, a "liberal".

Most educators are "independent thinkers", and would probably fall into the Independents category - some a little more to the left. They would not fall into a "conservative" category where critical thinking is de-valued and, perhaps more accurately, disfavored.

Of course, actual conservatives who are critical thinkers are now referred to as "RINOs". So, it boils down to what you're calling "conservatives", I suppose.
