Storm brewing for Little Rock (and 174 lbs bracket)

You simply have to present some type of defense or you look guilty as hell. Really, you look guilty no matter what. But, this way you at least put your stance on the record so you can always fall back to it if questioned later on...
It feels lile the appeal is a "hey, don't punish the kid for our mistake" appeal, and it sends a message that they fight for their athletes. But I just don't think that is a strong argument. If the NCAA lets this slide they will have to fight it every year, everywhere.

Regardless of outcome for the appeal, hopefully this is the “last” year for COVID impacts to years of eligibility (of course there’s always the double bird, splits dude to ruin my argument).

Doesn't PK have a covid season coming next year?

Removing the elastic from the underwear is one that's being overlooked here. That's blatant cheating and is written in the rules you can't alter your undergarment.

The big 12 is a joke in 2020 after Lamont who was the #1 seed lost at the big 12 tournament they decided to have a vote and wrestle a true 8th at 133 so Lamont would make NCAAs. Before the tournament started it was determined no true 8th would be wrestled at 133. WVU 133 Seibert had to comeback from the hotel after he thought he made NCAAs and wrestle a true match .
So what's the story who cheated on weigh ins?

Which, to me, is the worst argument possible. Out of ANYONE, he should be the one that ABSOLUTELY knows what his eligibility is/was and why...

I don’t know but you may be correct. He wrestled the 2020-21 season but I thought it was the 2019-20 season that didn’t count because of COVID. In 2021-22 he sat behind Marinelli. He will have participated in 3 NCAA tournaments across 5 years.

2019-20 counted, it just didn’t have an NCAA tournament. 2020-21 was free, which is why Starocci is going for 5 now. He RS in 2019-20, then competed every year starting in 2020-21.

PK has 1 more year. 2020 NCAA that didn't happen those SR got screwed. 2021 NCAA was the free year

I remember 2020 well. We attended the B1G tourney together at Rutgers and everything was glorious. Then it all fell apart the following week as sporting events were cancelled…costing the Hawks a championship. Thing that I recall having the biggest impact on me was seeing the lines waiting for the men’s bathroom. Amazing how it slows things down when everyone washes their hands!

Correct.

NCAA wants him out - LR filed a petition to keep him in. They've already decided next steps. Not sure what in the hell leg LR has to stand on here.
One would think you’re right but the ncaa is so toothless at this point I’m not sure they have the power to order a subway sandwich at their next company meeting.

Anybody that wrestled as a freshman in 2021 and has redshirted since still has another year, or two if you are like AJ and can claim an Olympic redshirt for an additional year. I"m sure at least a couple more have been injured in the past five years so they'd get the traditional hardship waiver. But we are one year away from being almost back in line with the previous "normal".

Seems like it will never end…we’re always one year away!

It also seems odd that none of the opposing coaches were aware of this either. You would think you would be pretty update your competition and someone would have caught it. I know their conference isnt like the b10 where all coaches are pretty familiar with each others programs/line ups but if any did any scouting or research on possilble champs they likely would have noticed this.

I believe he has another year of eligibility.
21: free year
22: RS
23, 24, 25, 26

It’s just so simple, how could anyone screw this up? 😑

It really is. You just don't count 2020-21 towards anything. Remove it, and still 5 years to complete 4 unless a waiver is granted. Pretty simple as long as you know how to count.

That said, I was certainly confused about it myself until a few months ago, when it was explained to me here. But I'm just a fat guy behind a computer screen slamming Dews and Doritos. It isn't my 40+ hour a week job.

South Park Wow GIF

Holy $hit. On FRL they noticed this and brought it up a couple days ago and now the kids not eligible. Wow. Hilarious if that show is what got him busted.

That’s…. Quite the oversight.

That's a coaching and admin fubar of the highest order. NCAA penalizes a lack of institutional control, so I doubt this will go well for Little Rock. He isn't eligible.

Exactly.

That’s absurd they would protest this in anyway. A very clear rule was broken

Yeah, but that's different.

This is what happens when Vodka’s calls go unreturned.

I truly hope he is ok. It is often hard to gauge how serious people are on here when repping a "persona". But, it sure seemed to me, that he became VERY unstable at the end. This is especially true if he was also the short-ran poster that went scorched earth dropping every negative news outlet piece on Trump shortly after his main account disappeared..

I actually enjoyed a lot of his posts, but it seemed he was WAAAAY too vested in some of the topics discussed...

I'm not sure how to feel about this, especially since we're in a time where juco may not impact eligibility years moving forward.

It is still a rule. The other examples (redshirts. Med redshirts, olympic rs, covid yr) guys played by the rules.
And how many other wrestlers would have returned this year if they knew the rule wouldn't be enforced?

That's how I describe you in my head
Really? I throw out hints all the time. Hell, I basically told every PSU fan out there that I am baiting them. If you think I am remotely as vested in ANY argument as Vodka was, you really haven't understood anything I have ever posted on here...

Edited to add: Here's the difference. I have FUN with the back and forth and actually enjoy some of the most ardent dissenting opinions. Most of the time, they put a big smile on my face. Meanwhile, I got the impression that Vodka took everything to heart and was constantly super offended on here.

This is FUN for me and I promise I take it WAY less seriously than nearly all that disagree with me on here!
