SWARM CEO Brad Heinrichs Interview. 20% of SWARM Beer SALES & 25% of Vodka SALES goes to SWARM. Says they need 10,000+ paying members; they're @ 1,800

Yep, $750,000 annually seems like a target that will be hit.

The annual numbers, based on what's been reported so far:

$375,000 ($7,200/week for vodka)
$360,000 ($30,000/month for beer)
..............................................................
$735,000 Total
============================

Enthusiasm may taper off but that might be countered by a couple of things: (1) I don't think either Exile Brewing or Foundry Distilling are at full brewing capacity yet in order to meet demand; and (2) there are probably a lot of liquor stores in Iowa that have not been supplied yet.

Demand appears to be high out of state, too. Hy-Vee does business in 8 states. Imagine if they get these products in Hy-Vee liquor stores in some of the other 7 states.

May 16, 2023 Update:

Got any money for beer?

Iowa's SWARM Collective is partnering with Exile Brewing Company to produce the SWARM Golden Ale, available in tap room and on store shelves by late July, per release.

20% of profits will go to the SWARM collective.

Still less than a year since SWARM launched.

Swarm Golden Ale will be available for fans to purchase in retail stores, restaurants, entertainment venues, and the taproom at Exile Brewery in Des Moines.

Exile Brewing Company is a locally owned, family business. Every drop of their beer is brewed, bottled, kegged, and canned at their historic brewery in downtown Des Moines.

This interview is from May 6, 2023.

And, by the way, he said they called women basketball prospects who were in the transfer portal but he didn't get any call backs.

Watch/listen here:

They're going to have to get a better beer before I buy again. Swarm just taste like crap.

I'd guess that depends largely on what type of beer you normally drink/like. For the hard core craft beer guys, it's likely not for you and honestly not Exile's intended audience for SWARM. If you're the average light beer drinker it's fine, and that is going to lead to higher volume of sales.

I’m taking a case deep in to enemy territory this weekend (Michigan) for a boat outing. They need to continue their support of Hawkeye athletics.

Wow, I’m surprised by that number. I didn’t think it would be near on par with the beer. It’s basically like the same contribution obviously too early to determine the trend of it. It looks like they’ve got 750 K a year in recurring revenue from the alcohol partners!

Bought first 12 pack tonight. On ice for tomorrow.

Also Swarm Collective has pregame tailgate stuff prior to games. It’s in the new hotel off Melrose I believe.

I wonder how many tap handles in des Moines the Swarm beer has? Exile used to have the most total taps in des Moines just over confluence when I used to order beer. Exile can make alot of beer but they have to keep making other ones.

Perhaps said facetiously, but Lisa Bluder in a recent interview hit on the whole NIL thing correctly. Asked why Iowa couldn't land a "big" from the portal, Lisa said perhaps Iowa couldn't match other schools" salary cap!

This is correct. If Iowa women basketball fans don't want to develop a way to pay NIL, then the money won't be there.
