The Elon Musk Twitter shitshow

What "radicals"?

I'll "repost" what I voted for:

  • Lower prescription drug pricing, allowing Medicare to negotiate prices with pharmaceutical companies
  • Free and fair elections
  • Support for Ukraine, against our geopolitical rival, Russia
  • Long-term plans for renewable energy and reduced fossil fuels dependence
  • Capable and qualified judges appointed to our courts
  • Strengthened ties with our NATO allies

Biden has delivered on every one of these items.
I'd like him to deliver on abortion access, unlimited, up to the 3rd trimester, and access after then in cases of difficult pregnancies/health-related problems. NOT waiting until someone's life is "in danger", but rather allowing abortions BEFORE they can become seriously ill.

What on any of this list is "radical" to you? Was Roe v Wade "radical"?
to borrow from Unforgiven: “Biden’s got nothing to do with it”

Don’t take the distraction bait. There is no organized “Radical Left”. Leftists extremists dress funny, post on social media, and protest at college campuses. Republican extremists control media companies and hold elected office.

IMO his biggest goals are toast. He’ll still be a billionaire and still be a presence but reputationally I don’t think he ever recovers from this.

Maybe achieving the Mars goal of bigger importance than how others view him from a reputation standpoint, that is usually the case with people who are ultra driven. Regardless reputation is temporary in the history books, do you know what Magellan's reputation was when he set out to sail the world...yeah, me neither.

The greats are goal and ego driven, not politically or reputation driven...they just don't GAF about what others think of them.

Antarctica is MUCH more habitable than Mars is.
When we can establish a colony there which does not require outside assistance, we can consider it "colonized" and can look toward Mars.

Mars requires around a year to send supplies to; you get one window to launch stuff during the year, and you miss that for any reason, you wait another year.

No

The goal is too far off; let's get technology and resources in place so there is a high likelihood it will succeed, and not leave a bunch of people dead.

You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. The fact is big goals that feel too soon, like our goals to go to the moon, propel societies forward. The Mars goal is large, maybe unattainable in our lifetime but the pursuit taken now will help speed up the actuality of it happening.

Often times the first one through the door get shot, "don't hit the mark". Elon might be that guy, either way his purist of this goal helps advance society forward.

It is weird that so many want to tear a guy who is helping to advance civilization forward. I just don't get that mentality but I do get how being hyper political warps the mind and can lead to these weird views.

Duped by Musk.

When did republicans cry about Musk's hypocrisy? I don't give a shit what he does with twitter, it's his company. Those not on the far right were of the same thought before Musk got involved - it's a private company so they can make their own rules on what to allow. The right wingers cried about the suppression of "free speech" (demonstrating each time they don't know what free speech is) and calling for bans to be lifted and all posting to be allowed. Now those same right wingers are cheering Musk's bans of speech as he has tantrum after tantrum.

The rest of us are mocking you, PF and all the other Musk fanboys. It's hilarious.
This. Exactly. Same thing with gas prices. We're laughing at and mocking...and they can't grasp it.

I think honestly he needs to consider putting a time delay on all tweets if he’s serious about this…no more “OMG look who is at this concert! <insert photo of celebrity>”

We can’t have that kind of information being leaked real time…

You can post something and it will be accepted within two hours for distribution.

I don't get the mentality of a grown man who actually believes Elon Musk is trying to advance civilization.

Jesus dude, if you really believe this, which is laughable but I’ll play along. How is involving himself with twitter helping him achieve his end goal of mars colonization? Secondly, it’s absurd you think he doesn’t care what people think of him, he’s demonstrated quite the opposite numerous times.

If you bother to notice, no one is tearing into Musk for his goals for space. But you won't because you're too busy frantically trying to defend his complete debacle and hypocrisy with twitter.

I have stated I think buying twitter was a mistake and that I am not sure his current "methods" will get it to the point he had envisioned. Do you only read what you want to read?

What is becoming alarmingly clear is we have a bunch of people who think authority and power should be consolidated to a central govt based on who is currently in power.

Then there are those of us that think the best, least risky path forward for all of society, is one where authority isn't consolidated but rather is distributed not only amongst govt bodies but the citizens of the world.

I read what you wrote - that people are tearing into Musk because he wants to advance civilization forward. That is as completely untrue as it is naïve about his intentions.

You just make shit up.

Who are these people and WTF does that have to do with Musk completely bungling twitter?
