Can we honestly evaluate it as bungled less than 60 days in? If he takes it public in two years and makes a mint is that bungled? I think we should probably give new ownership some time bc it does appear that it was a shit show of an organization that he walked into.
I want the government, We The People, to control environmental policies and natural resources, to ensure they are used in a sustainable fashion for future generations of We The People, and not hoarded and depleted by a handful of rich people to make themselves richer in the near term.

The reason he bought it is because he thought he could toy with them and not buy it in the long run and then found out he was going to lose billions and look really stupid if he backed out. so he moved forward with buying it and tanking the valuation of Tesla. He did it to try to save face and has looked like an even bigger idiot since then.
Tesla down another 4.5% and 25 month low.
He didn't really tank the value of twitter, sharp rising interest rates helped crush lead to the devaluation of tech stocks. Hint, when you think Interest Rate increases are a few months from ending you should buy up a bunch of twitter and other tech stocks that got hit hard the past 12 months.

You don't think his advancements in electric and self driving cars are not things that help advance civilization forward?
Maybe you haven't thought it through but with self driving automobiles seniors could stay in their homes longer, drunk driving and most driving accidents and fatalities go down. That seems like a pretty big advancement to me.

And still trying to argue a fallacy. People are not mocking Musk because of his self driving cars (well some are because it's been so oversold) or vision for Mars. They are mocking him because he has bungled the twitter purchase so badly that he and other investors have lost billions on both twitter and Tesla.
I think StarLink and Tesla and SpaceX have done magnificent things and are great advancements for our society and civilization as a whole. That view isn't exclusive of also thinking Musk has made a massive misstep and is a narcissistic hypocrite bully who is getting his ass handed to him now.
