The Elon Musk Twitter shitshow

Wait - to you children with leukemia is joke worthy?

You are a piece of shit.

You/Elon are a bigot. That’s more and more apparent with every tweet.

Pretty apparent that the standing policy that those execs were in charge of creating and maintaining was being overridden by Musk for that "one video".

Musk told them to "change the policy, then". They said no.
Musk said to post it anyway.

They realized their entire position/function was being undermined at the whim of the owner.
So they said "bye".

Advertisers will not view this in a positive light - the entire functions of those positions were to give advertisers the confidence that their brands would not be associated with bigotry and inappropriate content. Now that those policies are meaningless, per the arbitrary decisionmaking of Musk, advertisers will weigh whether the risks of putting their products on the platform are worth it, being subject to the whims of a man who continues to push alt/bigoted/racist themes.

As the platform's value is primarily based upon ad revenues, it will be interesting "how low we can go"...

I thought what is a woman was a great documentary before, even if it's sad that society has fallen to such a low point t that it even needed to be made. Now that Irwin is out at twitter over trying to censor it I love it even more. 110 plus million views in 3 days. Pretty crazy.

"I hate twitter so much!" he said in a tweet.
I’m not going to lie…I agree with this a bit. Why are people surprised? Since Elon bought Twitter it’s everything that is wrong with the internet…what did they think would happen.

I deleted my account the day of the acquisition and didn’t look back. Stop using the platform people! Or stop complaining about it.

More Trial Balloons for 2024 Elections...
I might get back on Twitter. I smell some business opportunities here.

“Biden is using AM radio waves to turn your kids into socialist liberals! Buy our new “True American Patriot” foil for the low price of $17.76 (plus tax)…and use it to protect your kids today!!”

Me: “yes, Reynolds wrap? I’m going to need as much aluminum foil wholesale as I can buy….perfect….you guys wouldn’t be able to relabel these as “Patriot foil” would you?”

Nice try here.....but you'll need more "alliteration" to make this one work.

I'd start with "Freedom Foil"...... it will give you and your kids the freedom to shield yourselves from Biden's Gay-Waves on AM radio....

We can debate Musk and his true intentions and true genius level forever. One thing not up for debate is whether Twitter has improved under his reign. It has not. It is a far worse platform full of blue checked racists / propagandists, advertisements, and weird tweets being foisted my way. And now making less money because of it. It only survives because a rival for discussing real time happenings has not yet emerged. When it does, it will really be in trouble.

Tesla is infamous for its big promises and long gestation periods. The Tesla Semi, revealed in 2017, only recently hit the streets in limited numbers this past Spring. The Tesla Roadster, also unveiled in 2017, is still in development. And the Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup, revealed exclusively to us in 2019, has seen its promised delivery slip from 2020 to 2024 at the earliest. That, as it turns out, may be optimistic, too. Leaked documents out of Tesla's German operations are shedding some light on why the manufacturer is so far behind on the Cybertruck and how there may be some fundamental flaws with its basic design and engineering.

The January 2022 report, part of 100 GB of files leaked by a whistleblower to the German outlet Handelsblatt and shared with Wired, indicate that preproduction Cybertruck prototypes are far behind schedule, with serious powertrain, braking, suspension, structural, and sealing issues plaguing the Cybertruck. Let's dive in to the reported issues.

I mean it was supposed to be available in 2020, so it’s a little behind.

The tweet in question was a reply to one of Elon's favorite bros, the "Bloke Mind Virus"-afflicted David Sacks, who was peddling some of the latest Zero Hedge conspiracy theories about the Bidens and Burisma to distract from the most corrupt President in history's growing legal troubles.

Elon joined the chat by saying "perhaps we need a modern day Sulla," with a helpful link to the Brittanica article about some ancient Roman who (*checks Britttanica—*) was:

Victor in the first full-scale civil war in Roman history (88–82 bce) and subsequently dictator (82–79)

"Every Western democracy and everyone here on Twitter needs to see this tweet, and consider what it means, who Elon has become. This is no own-the-libs shit. It's a direct call for the ending of American democracy by force, a violent coup against a sitting American President."
"I didn't believe this was real but I went to look and it is. Sulla the Dictator is remembered two thousand years later as a terrifying butcher - the first man to seize power in Rome by force. Thousands died in his bloody purges - on a whim, or so he could take their property."
As Jim Stewartson tweeted:

Elmo is not joking about this. He’s part of a billionaires cult that has convinced themselves that they are so innately superior to us mortals that dictatorship would be for our own good.
Guy Freire added:

Sulla is perhaps the single most repulsive figure from the entire history of Rome and is a dog whistle figure for fascists who are afraid to name their other heroes in polite company
Flint Dibble chimed in:

To literally anyone who knows Roman history, this tweet strongly insinuates that Musk supports a violent coup and political assassinations. Because those were Sulla's actions and legacy.

Zuckerberg with the first legit Twitter alternative? Called "Threads"

A launch of the new app could come as soon as “the end of the month or beginning of next month, they have been onboarding people for a little while”, he claims.

Threads, which will be separate to Meta’s popular Instagram, is expected to feature a 500 character limit on its posts, staying true to the original ethos of Twitter even as the rival platform abandons shorter Tweets in favour of lengthy essays.

The whole design, Navarra says, “looks remarkably similar to Twitter”.
