The end is near. Beth is here.

If she pulls it off, she'll be revered. If not, she'll be remembered as the AD that let Iowa athletics slide. Either way, it has the feel of the end of an era with NIL, the new B1G, the wild wild west transfer portal, etc. Things are changing in college athletics.

If football struggles (and next year there's a good chance of it with a tougher schedule and lots of roster loss) it's going to get interesting.
Definitely interesting times ahead. I'm going on record today that next year will be a losing Big 10 record and likely a losing record overall for the first time since 2012. Roster turnover and a tougher schedule make it almost a certainty. Not being negative. Just being realistic.

Beth isn’t here to pacify the current staff. She’s here to usher in the next era of coaches. She knows that. The Iowa administration knows that. And I think the coaches know that.,

When Kinnick is at 50 percent capacity next weekend it will be the beginning of the end.
Are you that stupid?

It's going to have to get pretty ugly before Beth has a conversation with KFz. You don't just push a guy out with the kind of reputation he has. She'd lose a lot of backers with money. It's going to take multiple losing seasons before that kind of thing happens. Unfortunately KFz is just the kind of guy to overstay his welcome...always the last to figure it out and always the last to be willing to change.

Beth may wish she never took the job. With Fran and KFz on their last legs...its' going to be a tough few years ahead.
Completely disagree. She fired his son in the middle of the season and basically usurped his authority. It was embarrassing for KF and it was interesting to see him for the first time as an employee subject to accountability. I’m telling you Beth will not wait or be scared to make a hard decision early.,

The "Yeah, but you should have been around for Iowa sports in the '60s and '70s" argument never gets old....
It's the grandpa argument, which is the opposite of the great grandpa argument which argues for a return to the glory days of Forest Evashevsky.

Put this in the "I'll believe it when I see it" column.
She may have taken the much needed step to get rid of Brian, but sending Kirk packing is a level she won't go to.
Kirk will continue to cash the paycheck and ride it out for a few years. MAYBE if next year is a disaster along the lines of 2012 he calls it quits.

Next year is going to be brutal. You may see a losing record. How many wins do you see among this list of opponents? 7 is optimistic
Albany
ISU
UMass
Nebraska
Rutgers
USC
Wisconsin
Indiana
Mich St
Minnesota
Oregon
Penn St

The blind supporters will say KFz deserves a couple more years as he's in rebuild mode with all the new players. He'll take the program down with him rather than step down early.

Honestly, without being a homer, at this present moment, I see 3-4 highly-probable wins.

Of course, with Sullivan, the RB room, and maybe some Lester WR magic via the portal, the offense may continue to improve. The D may take a further step backward, but not catastrophic. Then, more optimistically, I could see 5-6.
