The 34-year-old, who was the World’s Strongest Man in 2018 as well as runner up three-times and third-place getter another four times, was on the return to powerlifting after a two-year hiatus to pursue boxing.
Bjornsson, who holds the world deadlift record of 1,104lbs, announced he was making a comeback to strongman competitions in order to break a number of records.
But he’ll have to wait after reportedly tearing his pectoral muscle off the bone while bench pressing 556lbs.
