Of course there are special teams shenanigans with this dumbass ref crew.
I have a question. I thought all scoring plays were reviewable? Second part to that is if it is not reviewable, how do you lose a time out?? I mean thats like saying "nope we are not going to look AND we are going to take a time out from you for us not looking". I mean how do you lose a challenge when it can not be challenged????????

KJ is still an absolute beast and Cade is still really bad.

One thing I’ll give KF, he generally does very well against unfamiliar conference opponents since expansion.
If they called that incomplete, the Big Ten is officially screwing us.

Shocked they actually ran it - they can't stop KJ so I'm feeling more optimistic going into the 2nd half

Both FGs no good so it's a wash, KJ is a special player so enjoy him while he's here and Cade is not good at all. I want Sullivan as full time starter.

Iowa is the only team I've ever seen who hands off under a minute to run out the clock and consistently busts 40+ yard runs then has to scramble on what to do next because taking a knee doesn't make sense any more.
Don't worry word on the street is that he's improving.
seems like Cade can only throw the ball 15 yards before he loses accuracy and 30 yards is his absolute limit. He might have one of the worst arms in Div1. He's more mobile than Deacon, but less accurate and can't throw down field. I don't understand why KF has such a hard time pulling the plug on a bad QB.

I’m just proud that Kirk actually used a coach’s review. Can’t remember the last time he did. In true Kirk fashion, he reviewed a play that can’t be reviewed but that’s beside the point.

Cade had 5 completions for 30 net yards in that half. Thank God for KJ who ran for 109 and caught 3 of those 5 passes for 22 yards and a TD.
HS QB hits that throw for a TD , Open by 2 full steps , Rogers from Washington hits that throw, Cade is garbage .
Watching that Wetjen punt return.... he had a good 10-15 yards to pass the lineman on the right...instead of cutting back. Looks like he would have scored
Needed that punt vs Iowa State, soooo many things that had to go wrong in that game for ISU to win, never fails

He's bad, but he's not less accurate than Deacon.
One thing that drives me up a wall is the pass rush "getting fooled" by a quick spin move or a step up into the pocket by the QB because they just blindly run full bore at where they are AT, with zero anticipation of the QB making any kind of a move to avoid getting tackled..........
It's 2024.......DLinemen should have some mental awareness in the back of their mind that no other QBs except Iowa's will just stand there and wait to be sacked (of course now that I say that, our DL does go against our QBs everyday, so it's what they come to expect....perhaps we've figured out the problem 🤔)
But really though, our DL need to have an idea in mind of forcing the QB to step in the direction of where THEY want the QB to go. Come in wide and force him to really have to go backwards if he wants to break back outside. Otherwise, that forces him into the pocket where another DL can get to him.
Or breakdown a bit as you're getting to him, especially with the way the rules are. You're friggin right there and 90% of QBs in the world aren't gonna overpower a rush end or DT once they get their hands on the guy.
Just blindly rushing at where the QB is AT currently in his dropkick, though, is why you constantly see mobile QBs escape from the pocket.................

Taking a knee is going into the half. Running the ball is a feel to see what you can get done. Stop overreacting. KF has kneeled many times going into half. It was a great see what you can get playcall.
Sully was probably promised the starting job next year. Why would he leave?
To be fair, there is no camera angle to review when the ball crosses the goal post plane to be able to see if it is inside the goal post. It's not surprising it is unreviewable. KF using a timeout for an unreviewable play---that is also not surprising.
