*****The Official Iowa vs Washington Football Game Thread*****

He's bad, but he's not less accurate than Deacon.
Yep. Just doesn't have the arm strength anymore.

I watched some replays of our game against Michigan in 2021 and their game against OSU. Cade was whipping some tight throws down the middle of the field and into areas near the sidelines that Petras and Hill could not do.

That didn't mean that Cade = Heisman. Just that he was an upgrade.

I don't know why his knee injuries caused his arm strength to fall off a f***ing cliff, but that's probably the biggest difference (outside of the obvious change in mobility) in his play in 2021 and now.

Sully was probably promised the starting job next year. Why would he leave?

Sully has to balance a guaranteed union card vs playing in a offense that has to break in a new OL and loses Kaleb and has
bottom of B1G WR crew.

I haven't seen enough of Sully to say he's a better than Average B1G QB, but he does have the arm and athleticism that Cade doesn't have.

seems like Cade can only throw the ball 15 yards before he loses accuracy and 30 yards is his absolute limit. He might have one of the worst arms in Div1. He's more mobile than Deacon, but less accurate and can't throw down field. I don't understand why KF has such a hard time pulling the plug on a bad QB.
Deacon ? Whoa

Maybe I missed it, if the play isn’t reviewable why didn’t we get the timeout back?!

Don't look now, but South Carolina is hanging with Alabama. They're down 12-14 and it's 1st and goal for the 'Cocks.

will wash score td in 2 plays after the half and iowa fans produce diamonds with clenched asses rest of game? former is not certain but latter is

I'm kinda a Cade cuck. But here's why you're persuasive.
Sullivan is probably not a better passer, but he does have legs.
So if 2 QBs have equal arms, you go with the QB who has escapability.
But Kirkball has been consistent over 25 years: childish stubborness.
Sullivan was a 70% passer in 10 starts at Northwestern.

90% of Cade's completions are within 3 yards of the line of scrimmage.

8 minutes and 40 second drive ending in a touchdown. You can't ask for anything more than that.

KF is, again, see 2001, 2008, 2014 off top of my head.
Why 2008?

It can only be argued, at best, that it cost us the Pittsburgh game, but we also hadn't entirely arrived as a team yet.

Stanzi got time before the Pitt game, where he won the job, and actually got pulled in the ISU game and it was an audible check by Christensen that led to a Shonn Greene TD.

We're not asking for Aaron Rodgers here...all we want is a QB that will hit a receiver who is wide open by 5 yards on a 30 yard throw...is that really too much to ask? We left points on the field there because McNamara can't make simple throws that D1 QB's HAVE to make. Hit the wide open guy when it happens because it doesn't happen 10 times a game. He just can't take advantage of it when it happens (like the TE down the seam in the ISU game)
