This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

If you Goggle lurk that airbase you can see jets lined up wing tip to wing tip in several areas. The Russians have been so complacent throughout this war it stuns me. And, I have to wonder how many of those jets are airworthy. Just from a simple pass over the base you see jets in disrepair and a base that looks like it hasn't had a coat of paint, or anyone pull a weed in 30 years. Just how well are they taking care of the machinery and pilots?

Video from last night with new caption.

"Scene of the completed rocket by the AD in the city of Kursk in Russia with 440k inhabitants. Online chats on TG of the Russians are starting to become constructive:“How long must we tolerate this?”"Until we leave Ukraine..."

Russia has some initial success but then falls back.

It is fascinating to ponder what the goal is-Ukraine sure have kept operation quiet from the start.

I think it’s main goal, other than perhaps messing up supply routes, is to make it impossible for the Russian citizens and military to ignore the fact their Army has been majorly depleted and damaged and they are quite simply unable to defend the rest of the country. Therefore I believe their desired outcome for this is 1) put major pressure on Putin in hopes the people / military take care of him and 2) cause unrest in other territories in Russia that may want to break free like for example Georgia.

The 1,000 of accounts of what is happening from the citizens there will spread like wildfire to Moscow and St Petersburg not all that far to the north. These citizens there already know something is not quite right but now are really finding out.

This should be majorly damaging to their psyche. Can you imagine 1,000ish troops from Mexican army doing an incursion 25 miles into US and wiping out a huge chunck of national guard, shooting down helicopters and planes and we are entering day 4 with no answers. I can’t either because our air power would wipe them off map first day.

The Russian military is massively depleted.
1. I don't think Ukraine kept it a secret, I think Russia is still filled with hubris and dismissed the build up before the incursion.
2. They couldn't do anything about it.

Chechens have to be the most pathetic excuse for a military in the entire world. All they do is make videos of themselves pretending to be heroic.

Think those are tank traps around the target?

"Baba Yaga was used both as a bomber deploying "mortar-sized munitions" and also as a "mother-ship" drone equipped with a signal repeater, anti-jamming equipment, batteries, and directional antennas.[8] Its ability to function as a signal repeater extended the battery life and range of secondary drones.[9] During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the drones have been used primarily at night.-Wiki"

They probably have half their aircraft down for parts and use them for parts for other aircraft.
For comparison a typical USAF squadron will have 1 designated aircraft for that purpose.

Biggest difference that I’d always see between the US and other air forces….

The whole lack of air superiority has been so shocking. I think like a ton of things ruined by corruption, perhaps it was the jets that were the most FUBAR’d in terms of not well maintained and not well trained on ground crew. They should have been able to overwhelm in Ukraine and most assuredly should be able to overwhelm inside Russia. Just amazing.
