Eff Russia.
Is this good or bad?
I've given up trying to keep track of US funding for Ukraine. There was $100. Later there was $60 billion. Then there was $40 billion. And scattered throughout are these smaller tranches: $400 million; $425 million.....Saw where this would be an ongoing theme for the rest of the year - packages around 400 million.
"US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, during his visit to Kyiv, stated that the United States will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth $400 million.
"Under the leadership of Joe Biden, the US continues to increase its support for Ukraine. Today, I want to announce a new presidential assistance package worth $400 million," Austin said.
According to him, the new package will include ammunition, military equipment, and weaponry for Ukraine.
Austin arrived in Kyiv today on an unannounced visit. His agenda includes discussions on further assistance to Ukraine, particularly in light of the fact that future aid may depend on the results of the upcoming US presidential election.
US aid to Ukraine
On October 16, US President Joe Biden announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $425 million. The package includes air defense systems, ammunition, armored vehicles, and other critical resources.
Additionally, Ukraine will receive more weaponry, including air defense interceptors, artillery systems, and armored vehicles.
At the same time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the United States would provide Ukraine with a series of military aid packages between October and December, with a total value ranging from $500 million to $750 million."
Interesting point. Will they be shooting deserters, or will the fighting groups desert en masse?North Koreans will never have had so much freedom. They will surrender soon.
Eat shit Putin.
Wait. Are we saying Russia is losing 20K men per month? Even if most are just wounded or whatever and not killed, that seems hard to sustain.
More like 35k/month these days.Wait. Are we saying Russia is losing 20K men per month? Even if most are just wounded or whatever and not killed, that seems hard to sustain.
You are correct these small amounts are part of the billions announced earlier. The other thing that confuses people is that much of this money actually stays in the US to pay companies making weapons for Ukraine.I've given up trying to keep track of US funding for Ukraine. There was $100. Later there was $60 billion. Then there was $40 billion. And scattered throughout are these smaller tranches: $400 million; $425 million.....
The problem is, many of those announcements are RE-announcements. If you add them up, you might think we've probably already given them a quarter of a trillion dollars. But what's the real total?
Sad.
I'd like to think this was a Ukrainian operation, but the more plausible explanation is your standard drunken dispute in Russia.
Air defenses would be nice, but the #1 thing I assume the South Koreans have in bulk is 155 mm shells. It has been reported in this thread a few times that instead of shipping shells to Ukraine directly, the Koreans have "swapped", stocks with countries like the US. Time to send 500,000 shells for starters.
Looks like they may cut out the middleman-great!Air defenses would be nice, but the #1 thing I assume the South Koreans have in bulk is 155 mm shells. Weirdos. Remind me of some other weirdos I know.
Disagree. Have you seen how many citizens have died in Ukraine compared to true estimates out of Gaza and the documented war crimes and mass graves. And they were invaded by the second biggest army in world unprovoked.Sad.
I notice she calls the Ukraine war a "genocide." I thought we had agreed to stop calling Putin's war a "genocide."
At least until we stop supporting the more obvious genocide that the Israeli's are carrying out (and expanding).
It's a bad look to be giving proportionally much more money and weapons to the perpetrator of the more obvious genocide than to the victim of the other genocide.
