This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

Well, that's just brilliant. They'll only implement sanctions on a country if the Security Council imposes them...and the country they would sanction has unilateral veto power in that council.
Why do you think the UN Security Council doesn’t do anything when the US bombs or invades somewhere?

Anyone have a few sentence explanation for Mexico not being on board? Just a desire to not get involved or do they have significant relationships or business with Russia?

@GOHOX69 curious what your thoughts are on this. Not trying to troll or anything, you just have a lot of thoughts on India's relations with other countries, and probably have an interesting take.
All I have to say to you is this. People remember things you know. Besides supporting a overtly terroristic nation in Pakistan and allowing them to have and proliferate nukes didn't help. Nor did turning a blind eye to China invading India repeatedly and trying to open up the Chinese market. Last us friends of India were Kennedy and Johnson. Many many Indians still keep a photo of jfk in their homes, including my own relatives.

Can you post anything other than "what about"? Is it possible that you have an original thought in your tiny little head? I have serious doubts.
Surprised someone as old as you hasn’t seen this happen before.
When the US invaded Panama France and Britain joined us in vetoing consideration at the security council.
But usually the US veto is exercised to shield Israel, not cover explicitly U.S. actions.

UN is as useful as tits on a boar hog.

UN is useful when it comes to a place for open diplomacy between nations. I think it helped get the sanctions rolling against Russia.

The security council and the idea that it is somehow going to prevent war when a country clearly wants to go to war is useless.

It would be interesting to see the history of UNSC vetoes. Like who is the “champion” of vetoes.

USSR/Russia - 120 (~30 since early 90s)
USA - 82 (~15 since early 90s)

So does this square up the ledger?

Honestly. Yes. Those babies and pets in Ukraine are certainly not being considered by Russia.
so Russian citizens and pets are responsible for the actions of a murderous POS dictator and his military who have been fed lies by the POS dictator.

I am as cynical and uncaring as they come, but I don't want everyday Russian citizens and pets to not have basic necessities. How is wanting them to suffer a solution to this mess?

This guy is on the Z payroll. It's interesting to see the spin machine in action. It's telling that it's devolved into the "Nuh UH" stage of rhetoric.

Because a popular uprising against Putin would be beneficial to world peace? War is hell.

No clue but notwithsanding buying cheapo oil, India has few choices. First, it is still relatively poor. There are a few Indians with a shit ton of cash but growth has been stagnant outside of big cities. Those places need energy. India doesn't sit on massive amounts of coal or oil so they have to import. Muslim countries aren't exactly friends of a Hindu India so it has to come from somewhere. Believe it or not, some American oil even goes there. So I can at least half ass understand why this is happening. Second, arms. Until the 1990's, western powers refused to sell sophisticated weapons to India. They sanctioned India for nuke tests in 1998 even though the P5 in the security counsel had irradiated the earth testing thousands of times. At the same time, they gave terrorist prostitute Pakistan every weapon it would need---to kill Indians, which they did well in Kashmir. Only since say 1998 and 2001 with UBL has the US woken up to the fact that China and Pukistan are not friends but their enemies. So now they need India and like a gf who has been scourned, she's tough to corral that quickly. Don't worry, India is firmly in the US camp besides its economic needs. No weapons are being transferred, no Indian troops are fighting for Russia etc. India is on a buying spree of US weapons and even Blinken and Lloyd Austin have said they understand the Indian position. It's fine to make noise in the media but at the end of the day, those who need to know know. India will be fighting China just like Ukraine is fighting Russia for the US. And we all know that.

I don't think so. I think he has a lot of knowledge and wants to talk about it, share it, argue about it, prove it, etc. He also is a strange guy, who probably struggles socially, doesn't have anyone he can share his knowledge with so he needs to shoe horn it in here.

That ends up making it look like changing the subject, whataboutisms, distractions, etc, but I think the intent isn't to diminish what Russia is doing, more so just an effort to also talk about the knowledge that he has, it just isn't communicated well because of his social awkwardness.

So I was right...not an original thought. Nobody has said one word denying the US is a bad player on the international scene. You seem to prefer the seriously bad players, however. It's your only trick and it's gotten really, really old. Furthermore, it doesn't even apply to the Mexico situation. You are - once again - comparing apples to hammers.
