One can hope.Might be getting those Marines back.
Other than make a donation to an aid group, what would they do?Still waiting on a silent Iowa Farm Bureau to provide food to Ukraine.........

Hope you're right. I have my doubts...I expect just as it took several days for the Russian looting war crimes to get from Twitter to the real news (all had to be verified) we will see a delay in govt actual decisions and ramp up activity. Including pressure being put on India and China. If the rest of the world begins to make it clear support for Russia will result in reevaluating trade negotiations, China will come around.
Every Indian I have ever worked with expressed how much family means to them. I expect further exposure to the civilian atrocities will move the general Indian population to demand more response from the govt to distance themselves. As well as the more vocal governments putting pressure on India.
I think this is a wait for the gears of govt bureaucracy to slowly churn and get the outliers to come around. Rational countries are not going to want to be on the wrong side of this. Longer it goes, worse it will look.
It’s the exploitation and weaponization of the new way we spread information that has been used to spread disinformation and propaganda the free world has to figure out. Propaganda is very effective and toxic stuff and most Americans and Europeans are now bombarded with it all day.
Americans and Europeans have options in regards to news options....the Russians currently don't. Big difference. It’s the exploitation and weaponization of the new way we spread information that has been used to spread disinformation and propaganda the free world has to figure out. For now. And not so sure just how much more options there are in places like Hungary and Serbia. We need to find a way to get rid of paid trolls and coded bots spreading disinformation for both political gain and for country destabilizationAmericans and Europeans have options in regards to news options....the Russians currently don't. Hence why I used the word “considered.”I think I get where you were going with this. Churchill was viewed as pompous. Neither he or Zelensky are or were buffoons. Zelensky played some in movies and TV, but he is a smart man.
Okay, TJ.Hence why I used the word “considered.”
Something's going on, that's for sure. When CPAC wants to have their "gathering" in Budapest, that says a lot.
This tweet coming from an actual Republican...one who would be the conservative voice of reason on Bill Maher's shows in previous years. Another one who knows her party is completely off the rails.
Yep. It really is something to behold. I keep waiting for these people to wake up from the bad lies they have been fed. I stupidly thought 1/6/21 was that moment. I know the elected GOP critters at time were horrified and shocked at the time, until they circled wagons and decided to do nothing about it. And I kind of thought this war would then wake these folks up to what is going on at a larger scale due to Putin. But it’s not. That is the power of disinformation and propaganda. This tweet coming from an actual Republican...one who would be the conservative voice of reason on Bill Maher's shows in previous years. Sadly, a major choice in the US is just as bad as what Russians are exposed to.Americans and Europeans have options in regards to news options....the Russians currently don't. Big difference.
If you're talking Fox...disagree.Sadly, a major choice in the US is just as bad as what Russians are exposed to.
Yes, really...or we wouldn't have Americans, like shown in another thread, who would prefer Putin as our President. Just let that sink in. Russia has been damaged from propaganda for decades...hell maybe a century. What happened there and in 1930's Germany are things I never thought possible in the US. I was wrong. The last 6 years...and what's very possible coming in the next decade tells me that. Thanks to radical right propaganda channels and programs. Not really.

Isn't it a little scary that 15% of Americans have a favorable view of Russia? What side of the political aisle are those 15% on? Things have changed since they were considered the evil empire when I was growing up.Tom....one dumb nitwit is anecdotal evidence.
Why don't we look at polling...
85% of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Russia....we can't get 85% of Americans to agree on almost anything. This is from February...before the atrocities came to light.
Gallup's February World Affairs update, completed before the Feb. 24 invasion, showed that 85% of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Russia, putting it near the bottom of the list of 19 countries tested. That 85% unfavorable number is the highest Gallup has recorded in the history of asking about Russia since we began using the current question format in 1989. By contrast, the same Gallup poll shows 62% of Americans holding a favorable opinion of Ukraine. Recent polling by YouGov suggests opinions of Ukraine have become even more positive.

What We Know About American Public Opinion and Ukraine
Americans are strongly supportive of Ukraine and overwhelmingly favor economic sanctions against Russia.news.gallup.com
Furthermore....Fox's wheelhouse is older folks.
In this poll the folks that are most likely to side with Russia are in the ages 18-29....not Fox's wheelhouse. Those young folks are going down social media rabbit holes apparently.
Tucker Carlson doesn't encapsulate Fox....all the daytime shows that I've seen, are very pro Ukraine.

Well...I think that's why older folks have a more unfavorable view of Russia than younger folks. 85% is about as close to consensus as we get. Can't fix stupid...Isn't it a little scary that 15% of Americans have a favorable view of Russia? What side of the political aisle are those 15% on? I have to say I too have had a hard time reconciling my experience growing up in the 1980s with Reagan as our president, and what he stood for, and how revered he supposedly is by most republicans, with their apparent support of Russia and Putin over the past few years. For some, it is more important to "stick it to the libs" than to stand by their principles.
The Master Plan is not going so well.

I'm just shocked by those numbers is the second poll with folks 18-27. Only around 50% think the Russians are targeting civilians as opposed to 90% of those 28 and up. Those numbers are disturbing...
