This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

How many missiles did we lob into Havana and how many Cuban kids did we murder? 🙄
Because the Soviet ships turned around: zero.

Do you think LeMay was going to spare Havana if JFK wasn’t bluffing?

“We went over there and fought the war and eventually burned down every town in North Korea anyway, someway or another, and some in South Korea too.… Over a period of three years or so, we killed off — what — twenty percent of the population of Korea as direct casualties of war, or from starvation and exposure?” - Curtis LeMay

Got anything from less than 70 years ago?

Again, you are comparing apples and anvils.

Get some new material, this schtick is played out.

Your equivalency is only valid under an assumption that never materialized And does nothing to invalidate Russia’s atrocity.

You are offering up that rarest of inane arguments: the speculative false equivalency

Someone clearly failed rhetoric in college.

Back to the should we give Ukraine stuff that can reach Moscow, I don't see the value in it. They need stuff that gives them a tactical edge to get the Russians on their heels, and to starve them of food, fuel and munitions.

I have lost track of some of this. Is Dnipro captured and that was HIMARS strikes, or was Dnipro still in Ukraine’s hands and shelled by Russians?
i know what you mean. In this case it was Russian missiles hitting a city still in Ukraine's hands.

What’s false about it?
If a sovereign nation like Cuba decides it wants to make a foreign military alliance and host bases and weapons, that is their sovereign right, isn’t it?

Unless we perceive it a threat to our security.
Because that’s different.
And then we’re going to threaten war.
Do you think JFK was bluffing?
Long ago.
You are no dummy, but your schist is old.

Going back and reading some of the Obama era diplomacy on this and a phrase stood out to me.
‘Russia possesses escalatory dominance’, meaning this means way more to them than it does us
I’ve asked this question, but the hawks don’t answer it. If NATO pours into a non-NATO country to begin attacking Russians, and the Russians nuke Lviv in response, are we then going to invite the more of same on NATO members?
Or would we pause and figure out how to climb down at that point, after 100k more are dead?
Or would it just be the end of Western Civ?

Cause you’re right, the trolley game says NATO should roll on Russia if you believe Putin is bluffing.

I’ve asked before if people were of the opinion the neocons thought Putin was bluffing previously (regarding the Russian response to Ukrainian NATO ascension). Because those same people are acting right now like they don’t think Putin is bluffing.

That memo from Burns cites unanimous consideration of Ukraine as a vital national security interest of Russia. There has been suggestion Putin is isolated and people wouldn’t follow through even if the orders were given, but I haven’t seen the evidence contra Burns, etc. that would support that hope.
Drink some good coffee.
You are too far into shit that no one will hear about your opinion.
You are a gamer asking for others to respond to….
Nah.

Also grew up in Soviet occupied East Berlin, educated by soviet propaganda, and sympathizes with the Russian cause. They were really pushed into invading Ukraine, it wasnt their fault you see.
