Thoughts and prayers. Another School Shooting

Republicans and Reagan specifically helped lead the charge in the deinstitutionalization of the mental healthcare system. Let's be real, the Republicans also would not be the party to shore it up again. Basically it is just a virtue signal on the wind by you.
And now the left has carried the torch by saying "Wanting to cut body parts off and declare yourself an entirely different person, must be affirmed and not treated as a mental condition."

This is where we need intellectual honesty in this country and less tribalism. The truth is there probably are a lot of cases where gender dysphoria is directly linked to mental illness. However, because this issue is a political football, we have lost the ability to look at it through the lens of sanity.

For me, it’s a lot like the liberal catchphrase “believe all women.” No. It should be “take all women seriously.” There is still a process necessary to ensure the integrity and veracity of someone’s claim.

She was a 15 year old 8th grader?

There is no way that no one suspected something like this, teachers had to face idea that this person was capable of this.
by no means, I just don't know many 15-year-old 8th graders

I just find it odd that a young person this messed up mentally wouldn't have already been a major red flag

My son was one. Far from a school shooter. September birthday and he was very immature so we held him back a grade. When he started school.

Then, during Covid, at home learning when you have a learning disability is not good.

Agree generally but I think where it became an issue is when we started getting into "treatment" for children. Most people see that as a bridge too far because we all know children are irrational. I am all for people that are adults basically doing what they want to make them happy as long as it doesn't affect others.

That's why they need to consult with parents/guardians and medical professionals. Some of you act like this is akin to a kid getting a piercing. SMH

Problem is that our society doesn't really do anything with the red flags it identifies,.. They're noted, categorized, observed, shunned and then mostly left to their own devices...
Probably because they can’t do anything about a red flag person. Can’t hurt a persons feelings and if something were to be done, I’m sure a lawsuit would follow.

I taught kindergarten most of my career. Many parents chose to not enroll their child until they were 6 which means some turned 7 in kindergarten.

K- 6 turning 7
First 7 turning 8
Second 8 turning 9
Third 9 turning 10
Fourth 10 turning 11
Fifth 11 turning 12
Sixth 12 turning 13
Seventh 13 turning 14
Eighth 14 turning 15

It's possible she was never retained and just turned 15 this school year. Students that are retained aren't necessarily mentally unstable. The are usually immature or have learning difficulties. I don't doubt there were red flags for this student, but I don't think you can conclude that based solely on her age.

Turning 7 in December of Kindergarten year would be far out of the norm. Spring/early summer turning 7 on very rare occasions but December (or earliersince we dont know when shooter turned 15), not unless there was a reason the parent started the child a year late. You're not just picking a weird point to fixate on, you're misrepresenting reality.

Looks like we need to ban manifesto’s. I don’t see anyone that doesn’t commit murders carrying around a manifesto. Probably should get rid of AI as well.
Seems like a pretty dumb comment but it makes just as much sense as saying we should ban all guns.

I wish we could ban AI. Unfortunately it is part of an arms race of sorts.

I've never really been a ban the guns sort of guy, more of a there is work to be done around the edges sort of guy.

It's not out of the norm especially with parents that have dreams of their child being a D1 athlete. We had a girl that had a late September birthday. Her mother had dreams of the girl becoming a college softball player so they waited until she was 6 to enroll her in kindergarten. She was 7 the majority of her kindergarten year. She did go on to play college softball, but not at the D1 level.

The kindergarten class of 2010–11 was diverse with respect to characteristics of individual children and their families. Six percent of kindergartners started their first year of kindergarten before they turned 5 years old, while 42 percent started when they were between5 and 5½ years old, 43 percent started when they were more than 5½ years old to 6 years old, and 9 percent started after they turned 6 years old.

My son is a September kid and we held him back (finally) for 7th grade. We had been transferred so as far as his new classmates knew he was always in the right grade.
He was always very smart and physically a big boy (he’s 6’4” now) but his social immaturity was evident when he began puberty. In retrospect it would have been a good idea to hold him back in kindergarten but he was very bright and the academic boredom might have created other issues that would have been behavioral.
He’s now extremely successful in his career and a married Dad of two.

My point in this discussion is that her age itself doesn't represent a red flag even if she was held back at some point.

Because it's not a trans teen, "dipshit".
Outstanding work Joe, so this:

"I don't want to say that is a red flag but it appears there were some serious red flags."

Should eliminate any need for you to focus on the trans aspect, especially considering the context of the additional post.

But again, you felt the need to piss yourself.

Because you are a single bedroom living incel who has no idea what a vagina looks/feels/taste like.

This has to be the most idiotic post of 2024. And trust me there were many.
Lib vs Con is super old and unnecessary. Let’s agree if possible that it’s tragic that two people had to die cause this (also dead) teenager was seriously screwed up.
Sad thing : take your own life
Screwed up thing: force two others to go with you

One of the few intelligent things I've read from a standard intelligence Hbot poster was

"If you ever consider murder/suicide start with the suicide".
