The top four teams going into the Semifinal Session 4 are PSU, OSU, Iowa and OK. St.
Many have commented on PSU being so dominant (OK so they have 5 legit title contenders/favorites) but surprisingly Ok. St. has the most wrestlers still going with 8 still alive 3 on the Championship side and 5 in consolations. PSU has 6 still going with 5 on championship side, Iowa 6 alive with four in Semi's and OSU 5 left with 4 on championship side.

Ranking aside I call that pretty evenly matched.

Hopefully we will see some of the underdogs come through tonight an knock off the PSU guys.

One of the big differences...PSU 18.5 bonus pts, tOSU 15 and Iowa only 8....we'd be right there even with no Stoll and Brooks not getting 7 points in the Qtrs....

Penn State has a 14.5 point lead, you call that parity? Penn State has 3 of the top 4 wrestlers in the tournament with the most team points and the others are not far behind. Iowa has Gilman and Penn State has 5 in the top 20 for team points. Iowa needs to get better at bonus points. Last night Penn State was in 10 place in the team race with just bonus points. Miracles can happen but it's not Christmas right now. Great job Iowa wrestlers just not enough of number 1 wrestlers. Help is coming next year!

There is parity for the #2 - #5 teams but Penn St is clearly dominating the tourney after the Qtr round with
a 20 pt lead over the Hawks. Have a feeling Penn St will blow this thing wide open after the semi round
with a good chance they send 5 wrestlers to the finals. Just hopeful the Hawks can send 2 - 3 into the finals and take 2nd place in the team race.

Bonus points is what has separated PSU from their competition during the last few title runs. I am calling parity in regards to the number of competitors each team has left alive in the tournament and in Semis. The only way to keep up is to match bonus points or have 2 to 3 more top four finishers than PSU.

It would be interesting to see the team totals with a healthy Stoll and with Gross not getting into trouble. It seems like we have been hurt with back to back big recruits at 141 who never even stepped on the mat for us.

Iowa consistently having 2-3 big holes will prevent the Hawks from winning. Until TnT get that fixed, we're fighting for second place.

Nope I convinced Cael to have his guys fall flat on their f***ing faces just because...

Penn State has shown that you can have holes in your lineup and still dominate. They only have six still in the tournament. You need the superstuds to make it happen.

Penn State could have five horrible wrestlers and their top five and they would still likely win. It isn't about having a balanced team, it's about having the absolute top end wrestlers. Such is scoring in the NCAA tournament.

This. Contrary to popular belief, the issue isn't having 10 guys qualified and scoring points. The issue is having guys who make it to Saturday night and win when they do, scoring bonus points along the way. In other words, you need a handful of superstars -- exactly what PSU has had each year they've won the team title. I like to call this the "Tarp Theory".
