Trump Speaks to National Assoc. of Black Journalists

It’s hard to believe maga is so dumb mb they don’t understand that a person can have an Indian mom and a Black dad, or a Black mom and a Vietnamese dad. Really amazing seeing them try to ignore reality. Trump got absolutely destroyed yesterday and everyone got to see what a horrible candidate he is. He should withdraw.

So you think Kamala sprays herself black like Trumpf sprays himself orange?
Season 5 Idk GIF by Friends

At least Trump showed up. Harris didn't, she hasn't done a press conference since she became the presumptive D candidate.

Pretty bad precedent when the "smart" political course is avoiding press conferences and interviews.

It was not a press conference for Trump, dipshit. It was a forum in which he wasn't coddled like a man-baby. He couldn't take it. His technique in responding to questions was like a toddler. Go vote for him though. You'll make you grandchildren embarrassed.

o.k....press conference adjacent :)

The point remains...Harris seems to be avoiding that type of setting. It'd be nice to be able to compare his performance to Kamala's.

Trump was shut down for nearly a month. Don't recall you saying anything about that. Perhaps you did. I just don't remember you calling out Trump for going into hiding.

The Democrats handed this election to Republicans on a platter, and they’re going to phvck it up by insulting women who don’t have children and insisting that someone of Jamaican descent isn’t black.

I would say it’s unbelievable, but it’s sadly quite predictable.
Single motherless women and effeminate men always vote for the dems. Unmarried women is their biggest voting block. Making fun of them isn't gonna change how they were going to vote lol now that said, the black response to that hostile and unprofessional "interview" is very pro trump, despite what the white liberals are saying.

"Shut down" for Trump still included interviews. I don't think Harris has even done an interview since she became the presumptive candidate.

The smart political move for Trump would be to not to show up in hostile environments like he did yesterday....but every candidate SHOULD.

They SHOULD be asked tough questions. They SHOULD be put on the spot. They SHOULD be made to explain their positions and past statements.

The press SHOULD be pressing them to put themselves in these type of situations.

Basically that's my point. At least Trump put himself in that situation.

Okay, I grant he did. He f'd it up though.

EDIT: Clearly he showed up because of vanity and he really believes the shit he says. He is a racist at heart.

He absolutely F'd it up. :)

I'd just like to see a juxtaposition between the two candidates.

See how they both handle a hostile environment.

I just think the incentive structure for that is totally being skewed. It's become "smart" politically to avoid those settings.

That's not a good development IMO. The press has to be bipartisan in DEMANDING that and calling out politicians that avoid it. If they don't...what good is the 4th estate in the political realm?

@torbee

Since you're a journalist, what do you think?

We see exponentially more of candidates today than ever before and this isn't a reality television show. Just because it benefits Trump doesn't mean everything should devolve into pettiness and grievances.

And then his handlers had to shut it down early and pull him out. Everything I have seen (except from the maga folks) is that Kamala will do that same interview in September. It was never supposed to be both of them there at the same time.

One is a former prosecutor; the other is a fat, ****ing slob with the emotional intelligence of a PMSing 16-year-old.

I don’t need to hedge my bets on that one.
Not the point ragnar...

The point is we should expect and demand that the folks that want to lead the country put themselves in these type situations.

Not reward them or giving them a free pass for avoiding those settings.

That's where we're heading in my opinion.

I knew the media would try to make the election about race, gender and social issues. Unfortunately Trump went down the rabbit hole and it did not look good. Is Trump the best pick? No. But if you look at where our country is right now, certaily Harris isn't. Kamala is a socialist and will make. things worse.

If you want interest rates, gas, groceries and energy to stay high - vote for her. Harris will reduce oil production further, raise taxes and push her green policies. I know what 16% interest rates look like, trust me, it won't be fun.

We have two wars in the world driven by dictators and Taiwan isn't far behind. I have traveled to China, Russia and the middle east over my career (women are not treated well), Putin and Xi won't respect Harris.

Bringing 11 million illegal immigrants into our medical system will cripple a system already in decline to its knees. Not to mention the expense to support workers not paying their fair share

Trump can be a baffone and sometimes his anics are hard to watch but he wants what is best for the country long-term. If Harris becomes president, God help us.

We see more of candidates in scripted settings.

We see less and less of them actually answering tough questions by journalists that are actually pressing them for answers.

It will be interesting to see the type questions she's asked in September.

Since she hasn't been asked to explain anything since she became the presumptive candidate it's hard to make a comparison :)
