Trump's taxes

Jfc. What witless person would pay 6 figures in taxes, let alone 7 figures (3mm)??!!??

Apparently the entire 1% is just a bunch of witless dopes. They contribute 38,5% of all tax revenue.

  • The top 1 percent paid a greater share of individual income taxes (38.5 percent) than the bottom 90 percent combined (29.9 percent).
.

That no rich people pay taxes is just another mindless trope. Sure there maybe some options to reduce taxes, but it's just not possible to pay no taxes unless your either not making any money or cheating.

And you want those dumb f***s in charge?

Come on people. Is that your goal to have leaders not know how to jimmy the tax code? Ffs get real

There’s a really easy way to avoid paying six or seven figures in taxes. Make less money.

But, yeah, I’d prefer our leaders play by the same rules as all Americans and not “Jimmy the tax code”.

Well I don’t have access to private citizens tax returns. As private citizens they are under no obligation to publicize them. Nor are politicians though historically recently they have.

I don’t think I need to provide examples to imagine a scenario where I’m right. You’re not worth discussing this with if you can’t agree to that.
So you have no example but you believe it true and you expect this to be convincing? No wonder you’re a trump supporter.

A flat tax without deductions would destroy American business. Unless you’re going to exempt business from taxes.

Total personal income in the United States is shy of 19 trillion dollars. Current United States budget is shy of 5 trillion. Round numbers but something like that. To make a flat tax work it would have to be 25%. That would be before anyone figured the prebates or anything like that.
I haven’t looked at the numbers myself but does your 19T include capital gains or just personal income from wages?

There is a really good reason for that statistic. They. Have. All. The. Money.

You do realize that this line of reasoning was the entire basis for the Trump collusion investigation, news coverage and debate?

I just did a google search and it said personal income. My assumption is that did not include capital gains. Most flat tax proposals specifically exclude capital gains income from the flat tax.

What is it he did illegal here? Can you point to something? Other than your sense of fairness being violated?
You just completely moved the goal posts.
This is not only about legal/illegal although there may be something that is against the tax code. When dealing with taxes there is a huge gray area. If everything was hunky dory it wouldn’t be audited for over 4 years. I actually think it is not being audited but litigated. I have zero issues if he is pushing into gray areas, but it sounds like there might be more than that here. There is also potential fraud if he was losing all this money and still claiming profitability or cash flows on the lending forms.
The non-legal stuff is what you are completely ignoring. This just cemented the fact that he is full of it about being a great business man. This is on top of the known fact he bankrupted casinos, paid off hookers, cheated on his pregnant wife, etc. Just another tick showing how he is immoral. How would an immoral man act with the power of the presidency? What if that man owes large amounts to foreign entities (or even domestic ones)? He was also impeached as a footnote to his presidency. So it’s not just a narrative about him being a bad man. It’s a fact.

If that is not enough check into the Central Park 5, birtherism, Trump University, USFL lawsuit, stiffing vendors, etc. That’s off the top of my head.

Even if you add the 800 billion or so in net capital gains income it doesn’t change the argument much. Even if you were willing to run a 2 trillion deficit it comes to 15%. A beatdown deal for the millionaire and billionaire. Not so much for anyone else.

So, who gave the cult their talking points?

There are two options here, either Trump is now proven a failed businessman or guilty of fraud. I get that Trumpers will ignore, excuse or not care. They are lost. C'mon Trumpers, answer one question...who does he owe over $400 mil to? Because it matters, a lot. Like, it's a massive national security issue...not that you care.

Ten zillion likes for this post.

If you any critical thinking skills, you would have jumped off the Trump train long ago. Republicans don’t have any so he can’t be “got,” until Biden is announced the winner of the Nov election. Everyone with half a brain already knew this.

I know, I think we should impeach him right now. I’m with you!!

He owes $400 million to Putin. Adam Schiff has had the goods the entire time.

And you do?
I’d like to think I do. I don’t bitch that people are better, smarter, and richer than I am. I don’t blame better off people for my short comings like most of all of you do.

It’s my guess that girl has no idea what real life is, unless she’s parent less and on her own paying all her own bills. She’s a child and it’s sad the guy above is using her as an example. I guess that’s expected though.

And Donald Trump knows what real life is?

All of this is batshit crazy. This has to be like a financial colonoscopy for Trump. But besides the scary debt to foreign nationals, there’s this hilarious nugget:

Sure. I’m fine with everyone paying taxes. Whatever the flat rate is. As long as it’s truly flat. If the richest at the top pay 20% and the bottom pay 20% that works for me. But I think even the poorest ought to pay. Other programs could be created to assist them without creating carve outs in the income tax. Flat would be flat.
You know though that those in Congress would never agree unless their were enormous pressure on the by voters to do so.

So someone makes $20 an hour and has to pay 8 grand a year in taxes? Leaving him just shy of 35k to live on? Or a person who makes $10 an hour gets to try and survive on about 1200 a month. I suppose you want them to pay for health insurance as well?

He doesn’t care. He’s pretty successful, in the 1%, if you didn’t know. He only wants what’s best for him.

Exactly like that only completely different.

Im often amazed how many professional people are just bat crap crazy. It tends to be people that require very specialized knowledge. My father in law is this way. Professor of engineering in composites but aside from that field just clueless and nutty as squirre turds.

Yes. I addressed this. Create other ways that we can help them. Earned income direct payments etc.

The problem we have is that in some cases we deincentivize work and when half of tax payers pay no income tax at all it makes little difference to them when tax policy and rates are calculated. Additionally so much policy discussion today revolves around envy. ‘Pay their fair share’. Top 1%. Big tax breaks to corporations. (Which I’m for eliminating) This sort of a system where everyone pays gets everyone some skin in the game and removes a sense of unfairness.
