There seems to be nothing but hypocrites up and down both sides of the aisle.

In '06 Reid, Durbin, Schumer. Murray. Biden and Obama all voted against raising the ceiling, and the Pubbers routinely do the same when a (D) is in the Oval Office.

- Senators voting in the House (I don't think so)

The difference is I believe in '06 there was enough Dem votes to raise the debt ceiling that it went through. Likely without much negotiation.

In this case the entire House Republican party is closing ranks and preventing the legislation from going through.

There is a difference between a few grandstanding votes and a political party on the whole grandstanding in a way that is going to hurt our economy.
