I approve your message big timeKirk said in his interview with Dolph they'd have to ser how Cade is after his big hit. Kirk had always said that a player doesn't lose his position because of injury.
Just wait and see the sob will start Cade next week
Let's hope so. Do whatever the old man has to do to try and save face, but Sullivan gives Iowa the best chance to win, and I've said that from day one. KF is dumb when it comes to QBs. The evidence is undeniable. Or maybe just ask the O-line and a RB named Kaleb Johnson which QB gives Iowa the best chance to win. LOLSullivan will start due to an 'injury' to CM.....
There were 4 passes in that sequence that you regularly see better QB's make for longer gains or TD's. The first was that long pass to a wide open Anderson which, although completed, required a huge effort just to bring in that probably isn't caught more then 25% of the time. It was really a terrific catch that could have easily been a TD. The second was a 6 yard sideline throw to a wide open Gill at the 10 yard line that was completed for a first down, but off target pulling him out of bounds. The third was an errant pass in the end zone to an open Anderson that was late and out of bounds. Anderson laid out again but it didn't matter. The fourth was an incomplete pass to Lachey where he had outside leverage in the end zone. Had Cade thrown a back shoulder pass it's an easy touchdown. Instead he sails a ball over him for an incomplete pass and Iowa has to settle for a field goal. These are the plays that Cade has missed all year. I don't know if Sullivan can make them either. That remains to be seen.We haven't seen him throw a 25-yard dime because he hasn't had the opportunity in an Iowa uniform. Although I'm glad you posted this in a way, because I was just wondering what might have been if it was Sullivan throwing to a wide-open Anderson in the first half and not CM.
I’m being serious. Even Kirk wouldn’t be dumb enough to start Cade on Saturday.Come on. This is the coach who kept Deacon Hill on the field the whole year. It’s certainly not unthinkable that Kirk will trot out Cade again. He’s a stubborn stubborn man.
Yeah, idk if he can either. I do know the faster the ball starts getting put where it is supposed to be the better it is for the entire passing game. Sully is accurate in the short game it looks like though, so we will see. There were 4 passes in that sequence that you regularly see better QB's make for longer gains or TD's. It always takes too long

idea for a thread/poll Fran.starting w/ Brad Banks?

This will be easy. KF will say Cade is hurt.

incompleteman, what a list
This is true, but much of the above doesn’t result in points. Obviously the safety and punt return TD aside.Something people need to remember is that it is not like the QB did or didn't do a lot in this game. There were a combination of "sparks" that snowballed and made the game what it was. Wetgen is fast, I mean in pads he is the kind of fast that makes fast people look not so fast. The defense did not give up a point all game!! That diving catch. Getting a pick or 2. Harris laying the wood. Dakin pinning them deep over and over and over again. Once it got started it was contagious through out the whole team. Not taking anything away from Sully, but also there was a lot more going on in this game then just QB play, like some would like to make it out to be.
A cynical person (certainly not me) might suggest that this is Kirk's way of not admitting he was wrong and having to announce a permanent QB change...

This is a GREAT question! Since we are coming off the worst stretch of QB play imaginable, this season feels like the most egregious example of Kirk waiting too long to make a QB change.
Hopefully it works out like those seasons and the Hawks finish strong... We'll be left wondering WHAT IF.... Kirk has made a decision sooner, but at least that means the 2nd half of the season was great.
This feels identical to the 08 season, when we had and absolute STUD at RB and we finally switched to Stanzi and things started clicking.
If Iowa fans had their way, this is how it'd go down:
Wasn’t the Drew Tate change another kicking and screaming scenario?idea for a thread/poll Fran.

Yes but even you have to admit the change and Sullivans toughness is a catalyst that ignited the entire team!Something people need to remember is that it is not like the QB did or didn't do a lot in this game.
