Head shaking that beat "reporters" are suddenly jumping all in on Sullivan as qb1 and touting his ability to challenge opposing D with his running ability. As if this was some ground breaking discovery rather than the Captain Obvious conclusion that it has been for months. Obvious that is except to gum chewing aficionado Captain Oblivious.

I would like this asked by a reporter:

"Kirk, looking at each of the 8 games played so far, I would appreciate if you would answer my question with a simple yes or no. My YES or NO question is this: Did Tim Lester agree with you in each of the 8 games that Cade gave the team the best chance to win?"

Wasn’t the Drew Tate change another kicking and screaming scenario?
I don't think so. Nathan Chandler was the clear starter throughout 2003. Though he was no Brad Banks, he did an acceptable job. Drew Tate was a true freshman at the time, and was somewhat surprisingly named QB2, passing Jason Manson on the depth chart.

Tate then started the next three years with little controversy that I recall.

Wasn't 2003 another top ten finish? Eighth in the final AP poll I believe.

Something people need to remember is that it is not like the QB did or didn't do a lot in this game. There were a combination of "sparks" that snowballed and made the game what it was. Wetgen is fast, I mean in pads he is the kind of fast that makes fast people look not so fast. The defense did not give up a point all game!! That diving catch. Getting a pick or 2. Harris laying the wood. Dakin pinning them deep over and over and over again. Once it got started it was contagious through out the whole team. Not taking anything away from Sully, but also there was a lot more going on in this game then just QB play, like some would like to make it out to be.

Outside of “that catch” which would have been a TD in stride, all of these “sparks” happened after one thing happened. Which was………?

I do agree there was a combination of sparks that snowballed into a blowout and it all seemed to start when Cade was pulled from the game. Coincidence? If you want to believe it was just that, I’m not here to change your mind.

McNamara's accuracy is a huge issue.

Can't wait to see what Sully can do with a week to prep, in a full game, vs a big rival, at home.

I don't believe the Hawks could win if QB change didn't hspoen against Wiscy. They are playing tough.

Yes but even you have to admit the change and Sullivans toughness is a catalyst that ignited the entire team!
Not arguing that. Something I have learned in life is some days everything single thing I touch turns to gold. Other days everything I touch turns to shit. I am not a kid anymore and have spent many years trying to analyze why that is. I mean I have walked around and hit 20 casinos in one night and did very well in each and every one and other times I have walked in dropped 200 bucks in 20 min and walked out. But it is that way with every aspect of my life. Tried to figure out if it was attitude mood or what. I have tried to figure it out and all I know is when a person like that is in a zone, you just step aside and let them do their thing. Sometimes there is no explanation. OR maybe it is a sum of so many small things it is hard to track, idk. I just know it happens and some people are just like that and are aware of it. As I have aged I have figured out just to walk away when things are fighting me and come back in a little bit. Friends of mine are amazed at how I do that, I will be stuck and starting to get upset and I just sit down or walk away for a little bit and then ta da I have the answer. Still not as nice as when it just turns to gold without much effort, but as they say, it all works out in the end, if it doesn't, It's not the end. (unless you quit obviously and I do not quit or give up)
So long story long, yeah I am fully aware of how one person can influence things and people and what one person can bring to the table.

It started with the QB change. I think the "injury" is just aimed at giving Cade a gracious way out. If Sully increases his completion percentage, which I think will happen based on his history as a Big Ten starter, he is exactly a Lester QB.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 - I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise, nor wealth to the discerning, nor favor to men of ability; for time and chance overtake them all.

Agreed. McNamara’s longest pass of the season came Saturday connecting with Anderson for 42 yards. He’s had a few 33 yard completions before that. Sullivan had a pass play (just over half of a game) for 40 yards. Which he was the lead blocker on. Hitting receivers in stride has been a huge issue this entire season. It’s killed any YAC, IMO. I think Sullivan will be an upgrade with this, which goes back to accuracy.

I have read that book as well. Fact is my grandmothers book was passed to me by my mother. I have wondered more then I care to admit if it is a curse or a blessing. Some days and then other days. Ya know. I gave up on trying to figure out much these days. It is what it is. Maybe philosophy is my gig, because I certainly do not know anything. Seen some stuff, been through some stuff, but know nothing.
Which I really do not understand how doctors, lawyers and philosophers are not better friends, they all have the jobs that drink and medicate the most. Shit is stressful, ya know? That thinking and all. Except maybe doctors and lawyers are still thinking they all that, make the rules or have a God complex still. The old saying is true as the day is long, ignorance is bliss. Or, in another way, now you have been unchained and drug to the mouth of the cave. Red pill, blue pill. It has been said many ways.

Chandler wasn’t terrible. He was at the very least serviceable if I remember correctly. And he beat the Gators in the bowl game.

54% completion percentage, 10 INTs, and he prevented @EvilMonkeyInTheCloset from winning 3 consecutive B1G Championships! ;)

In all seriousness, what a 3 year run (31 wins, 7 losses):

2002: Brad Banks...............11-2 (170-294, 58%; 2,573 yds; 26 TDs; 5 INTs)
2003: Nathan Chandler...10-3 (165-307, 54%; 2,040 yds; 18 TDs; 10 INTs)
2004: Drew Tate.................10-2 (233-375, 62%; 2,786 yds; 20 TDs; 14 INTs)

I can answer that question. Doctors are natural enemies. They tend toward a god like narcissism and really effin hate when they are challenged. Lawyers challenge them and they hate it. Lawyers, not usually lacking in self-esteem, have to be confrontational because our system is adversarial. Philosophers are always arguing for some belief/opinion or another.

My undergraduate degree was double major in history & philosophy, first major in econ then law school. When my kids left home I picked up an MFA in military history and am now finishing a doctoral program in economics. I've cross examined dozens of doctors so I have a little insight.

You are right, doctors and lawyers have very stressful jobs.
