Walsh Ironman

Willie picked Ferrari to finish 4th. I think The Brain’s picks are directly correlated to how much a wrestle’s parents suck up to him.
Gotta be a recency bias thing. Angelo hasn't been as active as those other guys, but he also hasn't lost a match in years for a reason.

His sophomore state title run where he beat two top 5 nationally ranked guys over and over again like 7 times is one of the most impressive runs I've ever seen. He may not be a huge bonus guy, but he's going to control and win so many matches for the hawks. Immediate title contender depending on what weight he goes next year. A little concerned he's still down at 165 considering the need at 184.

put down the pipes, dorks. if you think i make picks to ruffle this board's feathers, you're high.

i also picked Deluca. I also like Mr. Ferrari which, i cannot say about mr. sealy. and i also had a nice conversation w/ Angelo at the tournament. so all of your theories are silly.

There were several reasons why I wasn't sure how Angelo would compete. and let's not have revisionist history here - this was one of the best brackets ever. so don't act like it was a lay up.

Angelo hadn't competed often. I thought making 165 second day could be tough. and i thought Henckel could slow him down or be a tough matchup. (i had henckel over birden).

my picks were wrong. that i'll own. but it's bs to say i made them for ulterior motives.

I have a gut feeling Ferraris will be battling ref and opponent often. They are up to the challenge.
You are spot on with this and it’s always been the same for the Hawkeyes so that’s why they’re a perfect fit.
I sort of joke around a bit when I say embrace the hate, but the truth of it is as Hawkeye fans we all know it’s everybody versus us, and personally, I am good with it. Go, Hawks!

So you're not aware of your bias yet... that's too bad. It's step #1 in getting better, keep working at it.

I'll make sure I'm wearing boots when I read your posts.

Appreciate the post, Willie.

I haven’t looked at your rankings in awhile but will Angelo be moving up your P4P list? I seem to remember he dropped several spots due to not competing.

Call me crazy but I think we’re being a bit hard on @smalls103 here. First of all this 165 bracket was loaded with 4-6 studs. Secondly, smalls mentions Angelo cutting weight and that he had day two concerns regarding his gas tank. Lastly, that’s reasonable based on Angelo’s lack of activity wrestling in national competitions. His predictions were wrong but it wasn’t outlandish. It’s difficult to accurately project someone that doesn’t compete as much as the others in that bracket. If smalls is guilty of anything it may be recency bias.

Either way I’d like Willies impression of this board and in a broader sense our fan base to be positive. Simply because biases do exist, subconscious or otherwise, and he does talk to recruits. There’s a fine line between passion and insanity. The wrestling community is a small one, the number of good boards are limited, and like it or not smalls is a know commodity in this sport.

Willie and his good friend Pat Mineo are rats. Pay attention! It's not about his rankings. You shouldn't care one bit what he thinks of this board or the Hawkeye fan base.

He is a Penn State Fan first. Then a Husker Fan. He would love to see Iowa crumble

Yeah I don’t buy any of that about Willie, pats a puke. Smalls is a wrestling fan and one of the brands that moves this sport is Iowa. When Iowa is good wrestling is better. Numbers drive this sport and Iowa is certainly in the front seat. Rooting for Iowa to fail hurts smalls.

i met pat once in my entire life. and i met you zero times.

you have no idea what i think. you're just paranoid.

i have Angelo currently 3 in P4P for all class.

i think i'm going to move Duke from #1 to #3. the rationale being that although he had a couple losses, he competed way more often than Merrill or Angelo. with Duke being injured, that's not so much the case now.

i had Angelo 7th on SR Big Board largely b/c i didn't quite know what to make of him (again b/c of limited competition.)

but i think he moves at least into Top 3. arguably the #1.

oh, hey, Turk. haven't seen you much since you were making fun of a kid committing suicide. stay classy, pal.
I wasn't making fun of a kid for committing suicide. Prime example of how you twist the the reality of events to fit your narrative.

no idea what you are trying to say. sounds like you don't know what the word 'relevance' means.

in any case, my 'relevance' has nothing to do with an iowa message board.
Yet, here you are!

In a verbal pissing match with a random Hawk fan who apparently hurt your feelings.
